heres todays update:

right well, the reason it wouldnt start was because the fuel pump wasnt grounded out! how ever i thought i had done it but i obv never... so i turned the ignition and the fue pump kicked in... but then nothing except the engine turning over... so went outside the car to ake a look... stupid me forgot to connect up the fuel lines! so i done so and tryed it again, it started and then cut out... kept doing it for abit until i was gettin pissed off and mythed lol so i jamp in the car and proceded to phone my mate to ask him if h knew what it was... when sudinly i sttedone of the cables hanging off the steering wheel thats ment to be in the transponder box! so i hooked it up and hey presto it started :D sound awsome!

haven't got the cat and straight through connected yet tho =/ need to grinde slats in the gti down pip at the end of the cat to get it to clamp down!

and

need to do some wire splicing to get things to work like the rear reg lights for one... and the head lights =| does anyone on here know what wires goes where etc? i attempted it but got the side lights on and that was it! no head light :(

oh yea, and also: did you keep the E-gas throttle? or did you convert it to a cable operated throttle

also, is th speedo on polos linked to the gear box? because i dont have it connected and i dosent read my speed... some people have told me thats why but i need to splice the mk4 gear box plug to the mk5 loom!

my old gt used a cable on the gearbox to read the speed.

surly an 8v box will not give enough top end?
