right this is how my car has progressed since i bought it back in febuary, its had quite a few changes, some good some bad!

let me know what you think.

this is how i bought it as standard back in feb, 1.6 8v, 1999 t-reg, one previous owner

was pretty much perfect condition apart from the dent in the rear bumper and the dodgy wing mirror :/

1st off debadge grill, clear indicators & side repeators & smoked rear lights, & bump strips off

all i really could do untill i passed my test

then i ordered some coilies which took 6 weeks to come!!

in the meantime while i waited i sourced some borbets, 14x8 on brand new 195/45/14... lovely

fitted my head unit aswel

i was going to debadge the rear but turns out the lady who owned it before debadged it herself [no idea why!] then decided to reaplly them... with super glue so to my surprise i had '1.6cl polo' written in crusty super glue which had penertrated down to the bare metal

so i sprayed em black & stuck them back on. will these smoothed off along with the vw badge & handle in the near future

dewiper aswel

once the coilies came they were fitted along with the wheels asap!

dropped 90mm on the front, 75mm on the rear :p

also got some euro spec 16v rears which looked alot better than the black smoked ones

later on i fitted some 16v seats, along with some 6n2 rears as i wasnt really liking the overall back end of the car

also fitted a clifford arrow 5 alarm & sub & amp

also dropped the fronts all the way down 100mm, & the rears 85mm

still doesnt scrub unless theres a fatty or a full car haha

one of the last shots untill some big plans with my wheels...

fitted a momo team steering wheel, 280mm which is nuts, car feels like a go-kart haha

they were in need of a big refurb as they were pretty bad from the previous owner, so my friend gary who owns a compressor & gun sorted me out

primed & prepped for the dishes...

white all done, next stage centres then laquer...

I'm loving the white dishes!

got a few pics after a good bloody polish before ed38

so thats it at this current date!

I'm loving it, gets alot of looks, drives like a dream & is a shit load of fun to drive

plans for the future are get some new disks & pads [ANYONE KNOW THE BEST TO REDUCE BRAKE DUST, MY WHITE RIMS ARE HATING IT HAHA]

leather recaros, smoothed boot, possibly smooth off the front plate reces, get some arch work done so i can drop it some more, sort out my bloody green mirror! delocked handles & possibly a black roof

gunna get my hands on some banded steels or wellers for winter aswel, white dishes dont last a second in the rain!

any comments welcome, good or bad

Looks awesome, and the black badges actually look quite good against the Blue. Looks in brilliant condition

But like Dilzs said a White roof would look some much better than Black

So it was your car that was at Edition on the Club Polo stand. I managed to get some good shots of it

yerr 8v bumpers all the way! in my eyes its an 8v not a 16 [not saying that 16v bumpers look rubbish!]

you will have issues with cleaning white dishes wont you? they will get dirty as soon as you have cleaned em

they do get dirty quickly, but i use brake dust repellent which works surprisingly well

need to buy some 'wheel wax' sposed to be the shit that stuff

along with some low dust pads

aslong as it doesnt rain its fine

once the roads are wet thats when its a pain in the arse

i clean em quickly like every other day after work or every 3 day using mcguires hot wheels cleaner, takes no more than 15 mins & there always looking shiney that way haha

josh u were going to get 16v bumpers until i talked u out of it haha

oh and gary and edd fixed the go kart they're taking it out 2moz. Hopefully it will last mre than a couple of hours this time haha

Oh and have you done the inside of the wheels or not, just wondering suppose it's not worth it.

Oh yeh forgot you'd done yours is it just a simple Primer-Paint-Laquer job

i gave mine a 800 wet flat, high build prime ront he lips ( a few marks) primer the rest 2/3 coats of that, 3/4 on black centres wait ATLEAST 36 hours with the wheels in a walm place before maskin the black or u get marks from the maskin tape as i unfortunatly found out in a rush, then white remove tape wetflat with 1500 if youve got any runs then 4/5 of lacquer and about 9 on the inner dish i did so that cleaning then is easier and there smoother

yerr wait as long as possible for everything to dry, it took my friend two weeks in total to do them for me, & pretty much 80% of that time was drying time!

but its so worth it

reguards to what colour the inside is, me & my mate both agreed its probly not worth it, as brand new the backs arnt even touched, jsut left plain. plus the serface isnt smooth, on bobets its jsut hundreds of rings running round [hard to explain haha] so it would have been too much hassle for something which you can barely see once there on the car

we deliberatly let the over spray of the blue go onto the back so its subtle

but yer white dishes rule, i get alot more looks than before jsut having silver [and even then i got alot haha]

some people like it, some people hate it. but i can really see it working on pistashio, red, white, cosmic green and that other green, cant remeber the name [that dude color coded the centres of his borbets that colour, looks fuking nice]

like i mentioned before only downside is the dirt issue, but i see it as an excuse to wash my wheels alot haha
