Hi dudes.

I have my MOT coming up in the not so distant future! (Oct) I was just wondering if you could help me out with a few things. :)

First of all I have a tiny crack in the corner of my windscreen, which goes from one side to the other like the diagram below.

The crack finishes at each edge of the glass (if that makes sence) its not like the crack can go anywhere else...

Will they check for this on the MOT? Will it fail the MOT if found?

My second problem is, if my cars front wheels are touching the inner arch on full lock, will it fail? It doesn't scrub at all, just touches very slightly and leaves like a black bit on the inner arch which shows up because its a silver car. Will they take my wheels off and check this?

neither of those things should fail. cracks are ok as long as they aren't in the wiper swept area or a vertical area directly in front of the driver.

The crack shouldn't be a fail, but ask the tester when you go in to book and he'll tell you there and then.

Tyre rub would generally be considerred a fail, they won't take the wheel off, but will probably be able to see that it's happening from underneath.

Like I say, its only very slighlty touching. Would you advise me to wipe the rubbing off the arches before I take it in? So they window should be alright? Yesss! :) Thanks guys, your stars!

sounds like they will just give you advisories for that
