Ok peeps need new plates because mine have gone black behing the film thingy. I know that german plates are illegal as are any other foreign ones. Are the only things you can have are the reg obviousy, a badge for example GB and a border, what fonts are legal?. Does the bsauabcxyz number or whatever it is need to be on there. Also when you get plates from somewhere like Demonplates are they legal or not even if they are made with the normal font?

Get UK Legal Pressed Plates.. Google it.. You need UK lettering, correctly spaced.

Only the UK font is legal.. but you can have it like 3d etc like they do at halfords....

Just ask when you order.. are these legal.. either be legal or show plates.. show plates are not legal for the road..

Still wary of pressed plates even though it says they're legal About borders can you have them in any colour, also what is required to be at the bottom of the plate? cheers.

iv got uk font pressed plates from theplateman.com and i have NEVER been pulled for them as they look jus like the bogo plastic ones but much muhc more cleaner looking

you can send your docs off special post (signed for) and normally get them back withina day or 2

UK legal pressed plates can't be 100% legal.

For a start, the "strength" of the plate is non conforming unless the vehicle is pre 1973.

Legal font is mentioned a number of times on these adverts but the font is just one rule of many.

I can't see what is so bad with normal Halfords plates, you're pretty much assured that they're going to be legal.

It's just that they look better than the standard ones, About dubmeister has anyone been stopped for having the legal plates on, also can you just post your docs in the post and they will send you the plates back direct to your house?

They'll still be illegal cos your not a dvla dealer right? if i'm going to be illegal might as well do it in style Thanks anyway but i'm probs gonna get standard ones from halfords if not the dubmeister ones.

does anybody know where to buy legal font pressed plates but cut down in length? i need a pair as my plastic short ones for my private plate have vw never die written on the bottom and i want to put the reg on my new car lol

^^ Platemyride.com i think, do UK font pressed, and you can select shorter sizes, as close to legal as possible without having the BS.. whatever mark to make them 100% legal.

I thought the DVLA legal thing only applies from next month onwards, so if you bought them now you surely dont need to change them in november?

Hope not i like my new plates with ghosted welsh dragons.

i reckon next I'm just going to get some plain pressed plates they look clean and do the job, iv had enough hassle with my d banded ones tbh

I've had my new plates done, they look quite plain but have Welsh dragons ghosted into the background and no problem managed to get myself in a copper sandwich traveling to aberystwyth and didnt get pulled in and at the speed we were traveling they would have had a really good look at them. lol

I've even had a copper tell me they looked mint while i was parked in mcdonalds aberystwyth as well, cant wait till i go into england with them

Ill find out at the blackpool meet. but they will mostly notice the D banded cars first as long as the car behind has got a nice bright pair of headlamps ill get away with it. hahaha.

right to clear confusion about legal pressed plate's. I had a look yday on dubmiester n my nearest dealer was in ireland not gr8 when i live in Preston. I saw the number of a dealer in bradford rang them n ordered some.they came this mornin so it took less that 24hours

after speakin to them all i needed to do was fax off my v5. Job done and look good too
