I cant see what there arguing about. He got ahead of Raikonnen by taking the escape route, he dropped back so Raikonnen could re-gain the lead and then he continued racing once the original order had been restored!

F1 is being wrecked generally by petty over-zealous enforcement of the regulations in situations where its really not necessary. No-one died, no-one was injured. No-one's car got damaged. F1 is interesting when the drivers are left to get on with competing with each other, and its tedious when the letter of the regulations is preferred over the spirit of them.

Absolute hogwash - the penalty is unjust, and Ron Dennis contacted Charlie Whiting (race director) immediately to confirm that Lewis giving the place back was correct and legal. And yet McLaren receive a penalty?!

Just reading over on Planet-F1.com that basically it is Max Mosley and Max's mate Alan Donnelly who are in charge of the stewards... political reasoning anyone? I bet if the roles were reversed and it was Kimi cutting the chicane then slowing to let Lewis past, nothing would have happened

I think Hamilton should have just waited till the next opportunity to over take...maybe another few corners or the next lap...that way there would have been no issue.

Edit: F1 is boring...this must be the first overtake in the last 3 years or so? No wonder everyone is excited!

thats a fucking joke, last race Massa cut someone up in the pit lane and nothing happened. this race, hamilton does all he can to avoid an accident due to the conditions and it penalised for it, the last few laps of that race were pure madness, best bit of F1 for ages.

It does all smack of McLaren punishment again, complete bollocks tbh. Best thing would be to get rid of Mosely, Ecceslton et al and put people in charge who actually care about the sport and not their own pockets or personal agendas. Why put such a downer on what was a brilliant race finale.

Did you see Hamilton when he was waiting to go on the podium talking to Heidfeld, he's like a small child who is obviosuly loving his job. I love the fact that he really enjoys and relishes the oppurtunity that he has and he obviously has a lot of talent.

Oh and to all the "F1 is boring" brigade bugger off out of the thread! The only thing that is boring is the predictability of those comments.
