Only then it will only be on when my headunit is on, seems a good idea! Lol. What do you think!?

Depends on the power of the inverter. Sub cable should be sufficient for most, but it depends how you decide to wire it.

I'm assuming you will be using something like the electric antenna control feed to run a relay.
