Good work mate, I've been working on my own wiring again this week - it is just a pain as it takes so long - and you cant skimp or you will get running problems - hardest part for me was sorting out a longer piece of 3 core 0.5 for the knock sensor. you should get down the scrappy and get the newer end pieces and rubber grommets for the connectors - makes it look soooo much better:-) worth doing it now while your in the process.

and I'm sure you know already but to make sure you dont make a c0ck up - the ECU vacuum hose is a set length and can not be extended- you will need to make a hole in your heater hose grommet;-)

And wire 6 from the ECU is a thin earth which supplies 4 earth points on the engine - worth uprating this wire to a thicker gauge then standard - this is the wire known to be a problem point as where it joins is a clamped not soldered joint.

Good luck, I've enjoyed reading your progress

Cheers guys, not touched it in a couple of weeks as bought a bit of a bargain S3 and have been sorting that out!

Thanks for the comments, does keep me going!!!

Kiz, Good points, totally forgot about the vaccume hose tbh!!!

I know the earth, might well do that, supplies the Blue temp, dizzy etc iirc?

yes the earth supplies the dizzy, temp sensor, VAF and throttle switch. its a bugger when it starts to go.

i wonder if the 0.5m vacuum length can be extended all be it with a remap???

keep us updated

Ah cool I know.

I have failed and have not touched it lately.

Bought a S3 for a months money basically with a minor running fault, which is now up and going so soon back to the polo!

You are either on some top wages... or that was one stupidly cheap S3

Total porn - look forward to seeing more of this 8-)

Love how much work is going into this, you keeping 'the' wheels for it?

The pic of the G with its arse in the air is cool!

Awesome!

i remember doing mine - i didnt have the luxury of doing it like that tho - i had all 4 wheels on those 10" high drive on ramps and used a car crawler to get under and spent hours scrubbing so i know how much work has gone into that!

worth it tho when its all spanking and youve sealed all the gaps up so rust wont be back for years:-)

I would be a shame not to use coilovers on this.
