Finished this Mk5 Polo earlier.

My damn scanner doesnt like picking up the beige shade though, so had to mess around with highlight and contrast levels, messing up a lot of the other shades.

Looks a lot better in the flesh, so come look at them at a meet, ill probs have them on me :p

Yeah theres a good 6 or 7 of us that turn up at the coventry ricoh meets that are on the same course, from all different years. I guess the best auto designers have taste and drive vws :p

Those sketches look awsome ! ! ! I just love the looks and style of them, also loving the colour-scheme of the mk5 Polo.

Over here in Holland there's a bloke doint sketches on shows on order, but those are 'realistic" , these are more of the cartoon-ish look/touch, and I definately prefer yours with the cartoon-style!

Hey all

Havnt added anything on here for ages now, just been updating people on polo3.

Thought id share some stuff I've been up to recently though.

First up is Giorgios old mk2 loon, done in return for a lot of work hes done on my GT.

Next is a bit of a quick scribble that i did to test out an idea, but i think it works well, and its one of the few VW related cars I've done recently.

Recently though I've started getting back into drawing hot rods and muscle cars, which is where i started drawing cars years back.

First a 1932 Ford 3 window coupe, based on a drawing i did years ago:

A simple side view of a 1971 Plymouth GTX custom:

And a 1960 Ford Starliner:

Dunno if anyone noticed but i got my work in the letters section of classic ford a month ago:

Was pretty cool.

this work is amazing, like a few other people on here i also do graphics so its a big inspiration for me

specaily as i havnt done much work recently, dropped out of uni [ooops :(] the corse was shite tho ha

so seeing these pieces makes me want to get motivated & back into it

one thing thats getting me i how on earth do you stop the marked from bleeding!?

i find i have put down a solid line of black or whatever using a rollerball or gel type pen otherwise the colours jsut get that annoying fuzz on the edges :/

i would show a bit of mine but i dont want to hijack haha

@ robertvdub: yeah i have done. Obviously I'm not allowed to advertise on here though. Besides which, the last few I've done for people havnt been for money, theyve been for favours. For example, Giorgios brown loon. Illustration in exchange for engine work

@ youngdub: thanks for the comparison lol. I've been called the vw chip foose before, but i dont think I'm quite that good yet. Otherwise id own a garage and be building them lol. Hes definately an inspiration though, along with Steve Kirk, George Trosley and most recently, Jimmy Smith.

@ JoshM: Glad to be an inspiration lol. Certainly means something. I use Chartpak markers on Letraset marker paper. We get taught how to use it at uni, but essentially the paper has a fine layer of powder on one side that stops the marker from bleeding to a certain degree. Not always effective, so you need to make sure you dont keep it in contact with the paper too much and use more sweeping motions. Quick, but accurate. Its kind of similar to use a spray can, making even strokes across a panel. There was another thread somewhere were loads of people put up sketches that i started, take a look through my topics and dig it out. Stick some work up!
