as there has been serious rain round my area lately I've found out i have a leak in my car.

when I'm driving in the rain, if i accelerate or go up a hill, my foot gets wet!

really wet!

i cant move my foot out of the way because its my accelerater foot.. :(

i have to roll up my trouser leg so they dont get wet!!

being i girl i dont wear socks and stupid little shoes so my shoes really fill up lol

does anyone know what this could be?

battery tray? pull the battery out and have a peek.

haha ok! ill put a little bucket under my pedal.

na, obviously be best not to immerse it haha but simply pouring water around it will be fine.

if it leaks you'll be looking at getting a nice plate welded in and sealed nicely.

also good to clear any leaves etc from the surronding area and drains (each side of the inner wing, next to the battery and fuse box the other side) and check if the battery is leaking.

Yeah dont pour water over the battery, just pour it towards the bottom around it.

Like polo6n2 says there can be a build up of leaves and gunk in you drainage tray (there might be a plastic cover that you'll need to carefully remove to see into the drainage bit.

use a big fuck off tampon should help soak it up....

My battery tray went on my MK2 polo very small hole under the battery fixed it with a bit of tin and some galvanise paint hardens like rubber.

Yes there is a chance of a blockage with leaves and shit but if its been blocked for a while. By that i mean a couple of years then its highly possible that your inner wings have rotted away. By the sound of where the leak is, i'd say thats whats happened.

is it really bad then?

or does it happen quite a lot?

ok right, i dont dare take out the battery but i poured the water in and its leaking in two places in to the drive footwell..

i found loaads of leaves and shit so i got them all out (got my hands dirty)

and found two holes..

one in front of the battery and one behind..

about the size of a 50p

what do i do now :(?

this weekend! see the poloshow section of the forum.

if you try to put your hand up under the dash and feel what condition the inner wing is in, if bad you will need to take the whole dash out for welding,

also no one makes replacement ones so its a diy job i'm afraid.
