well typical, i go on holiday for 4 days and return to find the yugo parked on the drive has the rear window put through, i mean come on, theres sweet f.a in it, proper pissed me off...

And what is worse is the thought of a replacement? will places like autoglass be able to sort this?

anyone got any ideas who might? finding a scrap yugo i consider to be "not happening"

cheers :(

I've just had them come out for a new windscreen, they are good, only took 20 mins. cost me £75 but that was for a windscreen through insurance.

for a 1989 yugo tho i reckon i may struggle lol

poor yugo :(

I reckon you will find a window in a scappy somewhere, I know they are a pretty rare sight these days but there must have been a sizable amount of these sold originally. You used to see them every now and then. Certainly a lot more of them than G40s. But obviously not going to be as easy to come across in a scrapyard as any mk3 polo.

You need to find "Club Yugo", I'm sure it must exist!

there was one i joined 6 months ago and it has had 2 posts since i posted lol

well like I said on MSN, replace the windows with polycarbonate. Then it'll be even lighter and will fly even more! Seriously though it's not a bad idea!

i need something that looks standard tho!

try autoglass, you will be surprised!!!

If not, I have a friendly glass person ;)

board it up with chipboard and nails

polycarbonate could look standard, esp if it's a window held in with a rubber seal and not bonded. Also depends on it being a flat window.

well fortunately it is a tilt window, one of them crappy ones like on uno's etc

autoglass told me it was dealer only, hmmm, and the nearest dealer is? lol

hoppy if you could mention it to your friendly glass person that would be good :D

Why the fuck do you have a YUGO!?!?!

Edited by Tav

Wasnt it based, mechanically on a Fiat?

They might be able to put you in touch with someone, like the italian company that made the body for it, Autobiachini or something..

Why the fuck do you have a YUGO!?!?!

I'm guessing (well, hoping ) it's some kind of sleeper...

sorry to hear man some proper lil bastards around lately, really putting me off doing anything to my car.....

I'm sure there was a yugo in one of the scrappies i go to, I'm going mooching this weekend i think so will keep my eyes open

ha, well the reason and only reason i bought it was a post on here where spaniel mentioned a mate selling an uno turbo, then on the thread a yugo was posted, and i ended up buying both lmao

so yeah that will be going in at some point, it isnt the rear window either, it is the drivers up and down one, walshy if you can find one i would be there in a shot!

please do keep me informed, and if anyone else sees one!!!

yugo's are awesome cars

Why the fuck do you have a YUGO!?!?!

if only you knew ...:lol:

he would know if someone told him?

well its no real secret, but yeah, this yugo, staying standard, maybe an uprated passenger window and steering lock lol

dsc02940uy4.th.jpg

and this mk2 uno turbo engine going in, prob take the whole subframe and suspension and brakes as the yugo would get ripped apart

yugo is staying standard on the outside, but engine is gunna be tweaked to give it some joy's!

man image shack has gone super gay lately, cant direct link no more, dicks I'm just gunna stop using them lol

I like the look of them. Id probably go with something like a Fiat 1.4 16v 6-speed Punto engine myself, but the turbo will be mad as toast.

Not sure about the window, but an acrylic replacement will do for now until you find a glass one. Probably on the bay.
