Nothing too daft but lots of petrol with 4 people in the car, camping gear and the roofrack loaded up.

Should be a laugh with a 5th gear that's about to go bang.

My mate told me about the time he drove to Romania, took 25 hours (1300+ miles). So I always think of that story whenever I drive long distance.... anything is possible

Depends what you are driving....I did it last month on one tank in a diesel hire car. The Audi last year required about 3 or 4 slugs of £30 to get there. The G40 the year before was pretty good and the Polo GT the year before used 190 liters during a fuel crisis...that was expensive!

Driving down to Northampton is something I'd only do once a year based purely on the cost of the exercise. When I left to come home last month it was 11:30 and I was home for dinner at the back of 6.
