yeah thats true it don't really work on more modern cars, but tbh the more modern one's ain't really done to the usual rat rules (most are pritty straight and solid, just painted shit and with a rusty bonnet, roof rack and black and white checks all over them), its more like a lame interpretation of the rat look, although saying that some of them (like the astra) have some really nice touches to them and you can tell that who ever built it really put some thought into what he was doing rather than just copying every one else.

I've always been of the impression that rat looking water cooled dubs and other semi modern cars was created so poor students would have a reason as to why they are driving around in a shitheap of a car.

copying every body else = how many 'rat look' cars do you see that are just roof rack, rusty bonnet, black and white checks and random shit all over it? just like that astra, the only thing separating the astra from the rest is the interior (done well and original), the out side is just generic crap tbh.

and it would be pritty pointless putting 'i think this' in every post i make, this is a forum, which is basically a place where people post there views and opinions, so surely theres no reason to keep posting 'i think this' in every post. i notice you haven't put it in your post either btw

I'm also one of those air cooled guys, although mines not quite a rat but has its fair share of rust and mechanical probs. i dont think its a piss-take, its just his personal taste.

I dont know the exact aspect of a car following the "rat look"

But my point of view is that i like looking at other peoples work as much as the next guy, now i see some stuff i love, and some i hate, but i wont slate the person for doing their own thing.

On the other hand, this car is not a rat look car, but its different, and i find it pretty cool because of that fact, Claim it if its yours and slate it as you will, but its not going to change my opinion:

rich's caddy is pure rat, it just goes to show a matt black car can be rat, but just cause a car is matt black don't make it rat, it has a tuned td lump in it (and goes funking well) looks ruff as fuck and has some classy little touches (not just regulated bullshit). some of these so called rat lads could learn a few lessons from this car tbh, theres no rusty bonnet, no checks, infact it has very few of the touches that these owners of so called rat cars seem to use as guide lines to build there cars.

and that polo is cool, its not rat, but its not trying to be, it just has a sweet touch on the bonnet.
