1996 Mystic Vento aka Ghetta

Featured Replies

It Pains me to do this, but I am putting my Ghetto Fab Jetta up for sale! But as times are hard and I feel that I have done everything to the car that I wanted to do to it (short of putting the PD130 in it)!

Although I am putting it up here for sale, I am not really wanting to get rid of it, so not letting it go cheap, so this is sort of a feeler more than anything else really, unless some1 is actually interested.

I am moving to London soon, so wont end up needing this as a daily like I do now, and the mrs is pickin up a 16v polo soon, so I could always use that if this goes!

Here it goes –

Car – 1996 Vento in Mystic Blue (Purple/blue pearl)

Millage – 119,000 but full on service history, mainly VW and car runs soo smooth.

Bodywork – Couple spots of rust, nothing serious or major (sills do however need tidyin up as are dented due to damage getting it on the ramp for tracking/camber) these however can be cut and welded up with new ones for cheap if needed. Bottom of one (drivers side) is a little rusty with bottom of wing also getting a little rust too! Most of the little bits of rust spots are only surface rust. Rear N/S arch has also a bit of rust, but only arch and sill that I would pay attention to. Apart from that, it has a couple of scuffs n scratches on corners from previous owners bein a family so was their family car and guess lady wasn’t the best parker!

Arches are rolled all round, and CL splitter has been added up front, also has a few stickers but this can always be removed. Also bootlid has some glue damage, but cant really be seen unless up close, and this should come off with some of that auto glym tar remover stuff, I remembered it worked a treat getting tar off the polo.

Interior – Mulberry leather in pretty good condition all round no tears or burns, rears are near new! Bolsters are all fully built and not collapsed or anything. Doorcards are black fabric with tiny little purple/pink dots, it all works toghether well. Dash is black and so is flooring and parcel shelf.

Suspension/Wheels – Hottunning Coilies about 6 weeks old, BRAND NEW Schmidt modernlines in the 16x9s et25 fronts and et15s rear, and sit perfectly in the arches with NO rubbing even running that low, tyres are meaty yoko parada spec IIs in 205/40/16s so there is about £1200 of wheels and tyres all together.

Overall - I love this car, it is so reliable, no problem ever, just had a new CV boot, engine mount and throttle body base plate. Boot is massive, and has a nifty storage compartment with different sections under the boot floor. It has VR tail lights OE, also front lights (yellow) can be put back to original or stay yellow, as only face of glass painted and this can be removed with white spirit. Car is such a smooth drive and comfortable, and although not the fastest off the mark or top speed, it’ll cruise on the motorway all the way from notts to SW London doing 100 fully loaded and doesn’t ever miss a beat. Will come with both UK legal plastic plates, as well as a US spec rear one.

As for price, well there are a few options –

I would want £2000 as it is!

But will take offers of it without wheels for £1500

Or without leathers £1700

Or without both £1100

Obviously it’ll come with steel or/and std interior if you chose any of the options above.

Car can be viewed in Newark/Lincoln area, or Kingston every other weekend, or Bicester by prior arrangement!

I’m sure that I have missed a few bits, but if anyone has any Qs, drop me a call or PM.
