6n2 Coilovers / sports suspension kit (depending on oppinion!)

Featured Replies

As above, made by TA-Technix, front is fixed at a 40mm drop, the rear can be adjusted down to 80mm. Done less then 2000 miles with them, so nicely beded in! Just got the usual wear and tear marks, nothing major though.

Located nr Spalding, LINCS for the next 10 days

Too heavy and bulky to post so going to have to say pick up only.

£150 ono

yes they are coilovers, the springs go over the shocks, therefore are coilovers

they are coilovers, note they look completely different from yours

nah they look exactly the same, both have the springs over the dampers and both are coilovers. those ones in your pic are different cos they're adjustable coilovers.

they are mcpherson struts, not coilovers. the ones are showed you are called coilovers because they are adjustable!

club polo hits a new low....

mate, the definition of coilover is springs encase the damper. just about every car on the road today have coilovers, and a mcphearson strut is still a coilover because of that definition. you can get both non adjustable coilovers and adjustable coilovers (hence our difference in opinion!)

They are adjustable... my mate had a similar set of "coilovers" and adjusted the springs with an angle grinder lol :-D

On a more serious note, i have to agree the kit your selling is not a coilover kit, its a shocks/springs suspension kit.

You do get coilover kits that have 2 of your type and 2 adjustable coilovers, or 2 coilovers alone if you have a small french car.

The 1st type i mentioned offers a fixed ride hieght for 1 axle and adjustable height for the other axle. The two non-adjustables will be a shock/spring set up, the other 2 are the coilovers.

As for the small french cars, alot of those use torsion bars at the rear which are genarally lowered in "clicks" and then the front coilovers would be set to match.... but we wont go to far into the torsion bars as we seem to be on a pretty basic level here.

Anyways, good luck with the sale.

haha they are not coilovers! I think your confused.

To be honest you should lower your price, I got like £80 posted for a similar kit with a lower drop that I sold

THey are adjustable suspension with a limit to how much u can lower. Some u can drop between 40 - 60. I had some on my 6n, but coilovers are different.

I'll back you up..... been modding cars for 18+ years so was around when the term 'coilvers' came into play. It came from adjustable coilovers compared to non-adjustable coilovers and non-coilovers suspension, ie Fiestas, Minis, Golfs where the rear spring didn't go over the strut... and you replaced it with one that did, ie the coil goes over the strut!

But not the term coilver is used to mean adjustable coils / ride height adjustable.... its all ass-backwards but thats they way it is.

Anyway, nice wee kit for the money!
