Places to look to buy a car.

Featured Replies

hi, I'm checking all the usual places that i know of such as the local papers, ebay, autotrader and on here to try and find a 6n polo thats quite close to me . However theres such a limited choice. was wandering if anyone has any other good sites that have a lot of cars posted up for sale etc.

i should also probs go looking round garages etc but they seem to eb an absolute rip-off :(

How close do you consider quite close?

The way I look at it is that if you want the right car you have to be prepared to travel. I normally look in the local ads paper, post offices usually have a wall with stuff for sale on, auto trader, ebay, club polo, edition 38 etc.

I think you should be prepared to travel, after all we're only a small country. My grandad in Canada drove 1000 miles to look at a Jetta the other month so going 200 miles seems nowt!

Having said that when I'm looking for another car i see some that are miles and miles away but my enthusiasm isnt all there, i think about all the petrol money and taking a moaning boyfriend with me so i never end up going. If its a rarer car then deffo travel for the right one. 6n's arent exactly rare though.

Also, how expensive are 2nd hand cars these days!!

Where are you located?

based in like manchester/trafford. depends what second hand car you wanna buy lol. i have like a grand and a bit to spend. and i would travel far to buy a car, its my dad that wont lol. might get a mate, see if he wants to do a round trip and ill pay the petrol or something.

Small adds bring up some bargains!!!!!

Be prepared to view a few though!!! :-)

Could always get a train, bus etc etc. to go to the car then drive it home. Then don't need a dad or mates!

So your budget is quite good for a 6n then. Autotrader comes out tommorow and there should be more on the site aswell.

keep looking at the usual outlets and be prepared to travel. Everytime me or mates buy a car we just go on a road trip, can be quite entertaining lol!!!

try pistonheads tis good and you can do a distance option just put your postcode in.

i ended up getting mine from gumtree :)
