6n2 basic body mod Qs

Featured Replies

Have a few basic bodywork questions about the 6n2 guys...

1 - Are the bumpers on all the 6n2 models the same as the GTI minus the deep splitter and different inserts (and in some cases the colour coded strip I'm guessing)?

2 - On a few other dubs iv owned you can get the rear drivers door handle parts from a 5 door model and fit to the drivers door to loose the key barrel, is this possible with 6n2's?

3 - When you remove the side rubbing strips from the door and rear qarter does it leave holes or are they just glued on... and does it have a tendncy to take some paint/lacquer with it when removed?

4 - Whats behind the VW badge on the tailgate? I'm guessing theres holes or a recess? Do you buy black badges for them or just use a fine sand paper to remove the silver?

Forgot about the washer jets for the xenons. Il be running an aftermarket HID kit... il just ask my friendly MOT tester to ignore the lack of washer jets lol!

Il be putting a cat 1 with total closurein the car, so il be fine locking/unlocking from the fob, il leave the boot lock in place incase the alarm fails though.

Answered everything i needed to know body-wise there mate, thanks for that :-D
