Mud from CP show has left marks on my paintwork. Autogylm bodyshampoo isnt taking it off either is Autoglym intensive tar remover.

Any ideas on how to get them off??

The marks are on the doors, front wings, bonnet and very small marks on the centres of the wheels

something like G3 cutting compound should get that out

hmmmm, cant believe you cant get mud off! it is just mud isent it? really soapy megs shampoo works for me, snow foam or scratch x as xcore sais.

I've got a tip for you. i'm not being funny but nail polish remover will work even on colour marks that other people give you when they park too close to your car and only cost about £1-£2 or just ask your wife, girlfriend or your mum for a drop. but if its a scratch you'd need G3 or scratch x

just jetwash the fucker.... thats all i did when i got back, drove round to the local petrol station and left all the mud from my car, on their forcourt. hehe.

Tried it, helped a little bit but its still there. It doesnt really photograph well either it kinda just blends in on the photographs but you can see it if you get up close.

Personally you'd not catch me putting nail polish remover on my paint. After all nail polish is just a form of paint and your missus uses nail polish remover to remove the paint off her nails. So christ knows what it'll be doing to your paint!!!

Thats what i was thinking aswel. Well mickey said he would take alook at it next time i see him. Hes gunna see if parts need respraying aswel, cos the paint in some areas is a bit iffy. BUt he said machine polishing should be enough.

I have used this method of nail polish remover many times on cars and has never damaged the paint work.I wouldnt suggest it otherwise if i thought it would damage other peoples cars. I have been spraying and valeting cars for approx 10 years!!.

That's really odd, you're the second one on here with etched paintword from mud on that field. A chap with a freshly painted Coupe had the same problems. It looks like the mud has eaten in to the lacquer. A wet flat and polish should sort it out though, so don't worry too much.

I think there must be years of corrosive shite in that mud to damage paintwork.

Only spoke to the chap for a few minutes, but this is his car, hopefully someone on here knows his forum name.. (The paint job was absolutely gorgeous too)

well veedub9n was saying about his car havinga respray at one pint and maybe they used shite soft lacquer, possibly the same with that other dudes? maybe its not tough lacquer and its just really accidic soil

if were thre next year no way am i going int he white polo id be cleaning it like a bastard constantly paranoid about staining
