have you embarrased another driver?

Featured Replies

me & my brother have been embarrasing the newbies on a trackday today (in my mk3 ABD/GT)

highlights of the cars that had to get out of our way were......

Scooby WRX

RX7

Honda Integra Type R

best moment of the day was my brother pushing the RX7 along and the RX7 loosing it :D

.......

only reason we were push them along was that the newbies would'nt follow the rules & let faster cars past

I just use the left hand lane when exiting a junction, and have people try to overtake me just like everyone else. Usually,I'm on an economy run,and I'm happy.

But sometimes,i need to make progress, and that's when they fail to overtake - shrinking in the mirror before pulling into the left hand lane and staying back somewhat sheepishly.

High spec turbo diesels usually, driven by over-inflated egos.

Was driving along to Lowestoft a couple days after I past my test and I had some Corsa catching me up pretty quick. Came to a roundabout and stopped and he revved the bollocks out of it so I went for it aswell and cained him doing just into 3 figures (not much but is in a 1.0Ltr)....

Best bits were......he was alone when I had my mate, his Corsa was a 1.2 and this is before I de-badged the car so he could see what engine size mine was :D Big smile for him and a seat shrinker for him....WOOHOO

triple figures as in the speed you reached?

in a 1.0 mk4?

how long was the race for?

did the engine sound like it was about to blow up?

:lol::lol:

yeah, triple figures? lmao.

I drive one occasionally and its good for 95 and then its outta puff!!!

I get lots and lots of people try it on when i'm in the G. They must think the supercharged badge is a halfords special or something! I had a couple try it on, on-route to the polo show. I let them past so they think they're winning and then drop a cog or two and watch their face(s) as i thunder past and leave them for dead!

maybe they'll learn one day ???

haha i forgot about this one:

i have a pet peeve when people on motorcycles pull up next to you at the lights, and then go infront of your car.

because: how did you know i wasnt about to go fast?

so a guy on some brightly coloured bike with his GF on the back did this to me at the lights, and i then backed up, and moved to the left a half a meter.

the lights went green and he went pretty quick.

i nailed it and kept up with him;

he looked back and nearly shit himself!

at the next light he gave me a wave and a nod... and i returned one.

all in good fun, but dont get in my way!

haha! trust me!

i've been riding bikes since i was 4, also did mx till i was 19 and competed in a few of the countries semi finals till i had my arm ripped from it's socket in a massive crash to be told i'd never be able to use it again. i got the use back around 6 months later but that was the end of my career!

one of my mates also has the first '07 r1 turbo in the world! so hopefully i'm qualified tell the difference!!

I was driving my mates Rover 214Si on the weekend as he hasn't passed his test yet. Its a 5door and the dullest looking car ever sold.... but with 105bhp from its 16V k-series engine! Traffic light grand prix with a chav in a Saxo VTR with dust bin exhaust.... oh the laughter in that Rover :p

Those 105 bhp Rovers aren't slow... dunno what shape the one you were driving is, but the ones before the "MG ZR" shape, had the same engine, and were pretty damn rapid for a 1.4. 130 mph anyone?

I'm not sure about 130, but i'm fairly sure ( ;) ) that it is capable of 115!

gsxr 600 or 750 or 1000? turbo against n/a there you go then :p fair play for turbo r1 i dont like yamas anyway lol even though it would be rapid

I had some Noob in what I believe must of been a low specced red G40 try and push me out of the way, where a road near me blends into a DC, I just took the left hand lane and floored it, they went backwards alot more quickly than I had expected, must of been pretty gutting for them, knowing that a G40 ISNT! the fastest car in the world

dont think i ever have in my 1ltr lol

  • 2 weeks later...
dont think i ever have in my 1ltr lol

i did in my old fox but it was down to me knowing the road and the other driver being a dick!

I remember one time when I had my 1.2 16v Corsa (no comments needed, I know, alright?) I was driving back from dropping the girl home late one night, was doing about 35 in a 30, and there was an Escort GTI infront, he had a car infront of him doing 30, so as you can tell I began to catch him up. I sat at a normal 1 and half roughly, car length from him.

Now I don't know if it looked like I was close to him in his rear view or what but he braked a little, created a gap and booted it off round the corner, not for long as he didnt make a huge gap or anything. I stuck to my 35 and again slowly caught him up.

Approaching a roundabout he happened to be going straight on (towards my house) so I also went straight on. At this point the car which was infront of him had turned off. I still kept what I find to be an acceptable distance away from him and again he slammed on his brakes, to a stop. Checked me out in his rear view and carried on.

Now entering my estate which I've lived in all my life, so I know it very well. It comes to a roundabout which has 4 exits. I enter the roundabout behind him, he storms around it so that he is now behind me. I thought, "F*** this mate, I'm not having you behind me." (lol) I continue round this roundabout like 4 or 5 times and he must have got dizzy or something but stops on the roundabout so that I would then again in turn be behind him. I dart off down the 1st exit which is where I used to live and loops round the estate.

I'm flying down this road (bear in mind I'm in my Corsa) seen him pretty far back in my rear view at this point. Continue on round till he is no longer in sight. Flicked the lights off, and turned down the last road before a roundabout. Turned the car around and waited. about 10-15 seconds he comes on past, doesn't see me.

I've gone ahead and started following him seeing how he likes it. Flashed, heavy handed on the horn. He put his hazards on and pulled over, I pulled out and passed very slowly he had his hands up as if to say, "Sorry mate, no harm done." I gave him the ol' finger and made my way home. He didn't move until I was out of sight.

Some people ay?

Does make me laugh looking back on it though.

^^ I only ever move with progress on a road i know well. On unknown territory,a G40 could tempt me and id let them go.

You never know when some gas engineer's gonna decide to dig the road up - i jumped a crest once on an adverse camber, had all four wheels off the ground, landed in the corner and found someone had stopped with a flat tyre.. Had there been oncoming traffic,id have been mowing corn.

i cant be arsed with racing people when I'm driving my gt. i much prefer to just slam the brakes on. i couldnt give a shite if they plough into the back of my gt, if I'm in my g40 i'll just let them past, dont even want to risk wrecking out just cos some moron wants to sit 2mm off my back bumper

iam not a racer but i have owned a few corsas doing up the lane near my house when i had the polo

gsxr 600 or 750 or 1000? turbo against n/a there you go then fair play for turbo r1 i dont like yamas anyway lol even though it would be rapid

All great bikes though, the new Gixxer's have a mode that lets you switch between the power of the 600, 750 and 1000.

The new R6's and R1's are superb bikes though, they're alot more track-styled, very tought and sensitive, you can see Suzuki getting ideas off Yamaha too, he Gixxer's are looknig slightly more like the R's and less bulky like the S-Rads of 6 or so years ago.

Sorry is this Clubpolo?

I only ever embaress people on roads i know, and i know my 16v isnt going to out-straight a lot of cars, so i leave it to the corners I've got absolutely dialled and leave them for dead!

It rarely happens cos i feel a knob driving stupidly, but its nice to show up the likes of Clio 172s and Type Rs in corners, even if they do catch up on the long straights. Like someone said, it how you drive.

It once happened with a 206 Gti, i felt mega bad though because he took a corner wrong too fast behind me and binned it into the bushes!

I raced a suzuki RV 650 the other night, not into bikes so i dont know if they are any good? But it was still quick! I was on his arse though till about 120, then at the next next set of lights he gave me the nod of approval! So he must have thought WTF? Its only a polo! Was a wicked racethough!

bloody power ranger crotch rockets

tbh instead of racing, when i pull up at the traffic lights, i get out my car and i compare cock size. then i go on my way

Too many stories to tell, Robin & Tej have been at the sore end of some recent Polo turbo antics ;)

Turbodaily do you mean SV650? They're not slow but my mate has a couple bikes, thats his road one but he's got a 2 stroke 250 Yamaha that would eat it and alot of fast cars up to 120.

Oh and there was a van at my work today, with a 'Turbodaily' badge on the back, dunno what make, was gonna get it off though
