Yes man the GT is well & truly still alive. And i've got some new wheels on which are staying on! Plus I got a 280mm Momo team steering wheel so overall I'm pretty chuffed with it atm

i dont like any of the GT's for sale they're not clean enough. Liked yours and remembered seeing a for sale thread on it so thought id drop hyou a PM!

keep it on the BBS, nice to have a change.

These look miles better than the Sebrings tbh

Looks good, still needs a clean though :-p

Yeah I should be there mate, I ought to go really as I haven't been since January! Are you going, also do you know Chris Banks who has a black mk3 Golf. I saw a car very similar to yours today driving into the BP at Farnborough gate at around 1pm today?

That's such a shame, did you get a good pay out. Yeah I know there the number for sale keeps dropping, I think alot of people are holding onto them now as there aren't many around. Yeah it was up for sale a while ago but I decided against it. It just wouldn't be worth selling it now as if I was to put it up at a reasonable price it would be much.

Cheers man, I know it was pretty filthy that day as it hadn't been cleaned since January! But I also wanted to show that it actually gets used properly.

fair play, yeah i wil be there, no but I've herd of him through a mayte. wouldnt be me as i sold my mk3 on sunday, I'm now driving a matt black 6n. well i will look out for you up no rice mayte

Got paid out a grand for it and £2300 compensation but i literally couldnt give a shit about the money. it will never buy me a GT like my old one. they're all overpriced rustheaps nowadays.

heres a picture of how it looks now....

Keep up the good work mate!

love the car on those bbs mate. Looked great on sebrings, prefer it now though!

I'm not usually a fan of 15's on mk3's but those bbs look great.

Hey Roly,

Proper blast from the past hearing from you and seeing the ol gal - glad she's still alive. And i like the BBS, RZ's by any chance?

What mileage is the car on? And hows it held up for the past year.

I'm still going strong with the rado, this is how it was looking last summer:

Untitled-2.jpg

Decided and a wheel / front change for this year which i'm currently hoping to get right for Stonor Park. Will have to do another No Rice this year just been so busy with work and my new flat.

Catch up with you soon mate.

Hey man, I'm not sure what BBS's they are I got them from a mate at work & he said they came off his father in laws Corrado G60.

Its on 116k & abit miles, yeah its still going strong. I did have a couple of crap months with it where the electrics had a mind of their own. But I got a mate to cut out every bit of aftermarket wiring except the electric windows, I've had my ups & downs with it but its really going well at the moment & I still love driving it but just looking for something faster now.

The corrados looking great mate

Are you going to be at No-Rice this month?

See you soon man.

Well I got my brother to have a look over my car the weekend before its MOT last month to see if it would pass or not & he found two holes in the floor. One biggish one on the jacking point at the front but annoyingly he found another relatively small one right below where the seatbelt is mounted!

So its been sat at work for the past month and today I decided to get the work started.

Now I know why my feet were always freezing when driving!:roll:

So the next job sometime this week is to patch up the holes, seal the welds and rubber guard it :-D

The welding was all completed a few weeks ago and it was good and solid, also the horn strangely decided to start working again so it was fully prepared for it's MOT. Or so I thought! :x . On my way home the temperature kept climbing, it usually stays between 85-90 degrees no matter what, but by the time I got home it was on 110! So I let it cool down then checked the water level & there wasn't any!

So my brother checked it other this week & found that the seal of the thermostat housing seemed to be blocking the system & the rad had a massive hole in it. Then came the bad news of the head gasket. So last night we stripped it ready for the new bits to go on tomorrow.

And some pics of the welding being done:

Not the prettiest of welds but the holes are completely covered and the area is nice & strong now :-D

Hoepfully it will be ready for its MOT this coming weekend

good work saving it.

I like the RZ's btw.

good to see its on the mend mate, I'm back with vws at the mo, picked up a bora!

Cheers man, it has certainly been tough deciding to carry on with it. I couldn't be bothered with it after the holes were found because I had alot of small niggly problems with it already so it just sat at work for 3 weeks before I finally got round to getting it welded. But when I drove it home after the welding was completed I had a massive grin on my face.

So then when the head went I was livid but knew I had to keep it & just get on with it. It's not too bad really as it has only cost me just short of £200 for a new rad, water pump, timing belt, head set, thermostat housing & bits for a service so chuffed with that.

The BBS's have really grown on me, I ran the car with the RZ's on the front & the Sebrings on the rear for about two weeks as I couldn't make my mind up but eventually made the right choice to stick with the RZ's 8-)

Cheers mate, I can't wait to get it back on the road & take it out for a very long drive to remind me why I've kept it so long! :-D Good stuff man, how long have you had that, what spec is it? Looking for a replacement yet?
