I got mine from a big supplier near to me as they do huge discounts. But http://www.mytyres.co.uk/ do them aswell. Mine are Bridgestone potenza's 165/50/15 & their great! I use to have the Nankangs on & they weren't all that good, plus they were shite in the wet.

Cheers mate, the 280mm steering wheel doesn't make it any harder to drive. It is only slightly different when completely stationary but once you start moving it's fine.

Cheers. I had to go for the stretched tyre as alot of other sizes just scrubbed alot. With the Potenza's on I can easily have 3 passengers. :-D

Is this still alive?

Yep its still about. Not been on the road for a long time as I have been too busy with work & other stuff. Hoping to get my garage in the new year & start making some real progress :-D

Finally sorted the garage at my flat to move the Polo in for storage instead of keeping it at my mums plus it makes it alot easier to work on. Had the day off today so decided to make the most of the weather and make a start in the interior to trace the water leak

Call it a day.. need to get the value of mine up somehow :-p

Where is that hole?

THE INFAMOUS battery tray by the looks of it... dont give up this is still one of my favourite mk3's! had it with the sebrings in my "inspiration folder" for a long time ;)

if you decide to move on gimme first dibs!

You can't just give up on it with that small hole. Weld a patch in and she will be sound again :)

Well the rear axle is coming off over the weekend along with the fuel tank that has rotted on the filler neck and eaten away at the O/S rear inner wheel arch. Depending on what else we find it may be stripped :-(

  • Author

The fuel tank is out now so now have access to pretty much everything that needs work doing. I've been looking for other GT's for sale but can't find anything worth buying, would like one that doesn't need any major work but there is nothing at a sensible price. So I have decided that I should focus my efforts on this one :-D

No pics of the fuel tank being removed but I have swapped the GT wheels to my old 6N for the time being
