9N3 - Still going...

Featured Replies

Well, after the 'pots sitting in the shed since June, I finally got the money together to put some tyres on them, as the older ones were odd and balloons. The new tyres are 195/45/15s. I intend to get them pretty much spotless, they're not bad at the moment but there are a few blemishes.

Well, I trial fitted these tonight with my Dad.

As I already knew, coilovers are needed.

Some AP Coilovers will be getting ordered from Venom Motorsport tomorrow.

The wheel does look good on the car though, I just had to look past the huge arch gap!

Sorry, no photographs.

should look cool when lowered!

8-)

iv always liked these wheels for some reason. i think venom are shite though, go somewhere else :>

Really? Where else do you recommend?

Have you had problems with them in the past?

I think venom are the only place you can get AP coilovers from...Richard the owner was a top guy when i went up there to purchase my coilovers even throwing in some freebies!

Yeah I know that they are the importer or main UK seller of them or something.

I spoke to them on the phone regarding coilovers and the guy was really helpful, whether that means anything.

Patience, fellas. They're still in the box, you saw how long it took me to get some new rubber on the 'pots!

As soon as they're on, I shall bombard you with photos.

And so it begins. Photos to follow when either fronts or all four corners are done.

Someone please tell me if I've got the wrong springs on the strut? Should it be the other way round?

Andy, didn't you know Rolf was big on the modified VW scene?

Well, finally managed to get the fronts done at about 23:00 last night.

Put the steels back on and left it nose down so I could drive to work and back today.

Just a few photos, not the best but they'll do just to show the fronts. I will be going lower than that once I get the 'pots on, but won't be crazy low due to the roads around here. Ask DKnight. In fact, look at the second photo and notice the state of the road, it's like that all over the place.

The rears will be on sometime this week.

Got the rears done on Wednesday, still haven't got photos of it though. Will do soon.

Put the adjusters in basically to get it out of the garage, it's all the way down on the adjusters and they will be coming out soon.

Just thought I'd add this in for future 9N coilover fittings if someone hasn't seen it.

To get the adjusters to sit properly, there's a metal ring which sits is fixed to the bottom seat that needs taking out. I got it out using a bradawl and screwdriver.
