Will insurers price match each other

Featured Replies

I'm currently with direct line but i have been given a quote by norwich union which is much cheaper, i don't want to change over as i just renewed my policy, but if i tell direct line, will they try and match the price to keep me as a customer???

thanks for the quick reply, has anyone ever tried this?

I'm guessing several hundred thousand people might have.

try it and let us know ....u should have a 14day money back policy if they dont. I'm now with norwich union too funnily enough.

     true!

Just ring them up, they'll answer your question in no time!

They may match the price, but check you are getting a like 4 like quote. Some people will remove some services to make it cheaper e.g. legal aid etc

Direct line will not price match at all, so i cancelled my policy! now with norwich union!

Brentacre knocked £200 off my renew quote a couple of years ago to price match an Adrian Flux quote...

I like Brentacre always helpful and friendly when you ring up... and English... well.. Welsh 8-)

Hey you miss-quoted me... I'd put a ' 8-) ' face after Welsh!

Just phone around like everytime you renew, Direct Line will lower their price to an extent but I've not found them to be the best, just look around.

Post office refused to match a HSBC quote despite both quotes being underwritten by Zurich. Post Office wanted £600 & HSBC only £360, the woman from the post office just said no chance as the £600 was the cheapest quote Zurich offered.

Quinn-Direct dont price match either, so i cancled my policy wen it ran out so it didnt re-new

i threatened to leave my insurance company after they dint price match, within 5 mins, they rang me telling me they'd do it cheaper

I'm insured on the mk1 polo for 176 quid, no one dare touch that quote with 0 yrs ncb on my record, so it was the cheapest by far.

some do offer price matches, some just cant underwrite you for cheap so dont bother

they'd normally do anything to keep you

lol not wen they had to forkout 800 for a claim they dont :p but really that was my money i paid with if u think about it... wankers
