Hi folks,

Basically, I was down at the parents two weeks ago, and afterwards took the car for a quick car wash. I remember choosing the option with 'hot wax' , which might help in figuring out what my problem is. Basically, it came out all nice & clean, and then a few days later.. Its all sticky. I'm talking like these weird 'dots' all around the car. Millions of them!! I'm assumin they're wax deposits that have dried up or wtv. They're on the car body & windows as well.

I've tried using the windscreen washer 'solution' on the windscreen, which seems to 'clear them', till the next day when they 'magically' come back. Any ideas how I can get rid of this crap, without resulting to driving back to the parents. They are a bit far away, and I cant really be arsed either.

Sounds about right to me.

Degrease it and then give it a good polish and wax by hand.

Funny thing is, I was parked under a tree lol.. For a good few days as well, as thats my lil 'parking' spot in London. (Resident permit for halls) Right, so all I need to do is wash it, and wax? Now washing the car (by hand) isnt the problem, its the waxing. I've never waxed the car before. Do I just go get some 'wax' solution from halfords, and dab it on a cloth, and 'polish' the whole thing or what?

Its cause Hayesey is a love machine from outer space.

Waxing is easy enough really. You just want to either get a cloth, or if your fancy one of those little polishing pad things. Just wax in a circular motion around the car until the whole thing is covered. Allow it to cure for a bit (it will turn into a white haze kind of effect) and then you just polish it off with another clean cloth. You can get microfibre cleaning cloths from loads of places like Netto, Lidl, Aldi etc. There usually £1 from those kinds of places or about £10-15 from Halfords.

polish in lines not circles! out of the sun too

idealy youd want a cleaner wax or mild polsih

klasse aio is good if you can mail order it , or autoglym super resin polish from halfrods

I use Autoglym Super Resin Polish, does it up a treat.

Autoglym products are pricey though.

wax and polish doesnt help.

those deposits are very hard.

you can crack them open with you are fingernail..

if its reddish in the middle its tree sap.

i still have it all over my car for over year

you could try a clay bar kit if polish doesnt remove the spots

theres a tree that drops all that shit on my car by my gf's house.....took me ages to figure out what it was though.

I've changed my parking space now

i got them on my car the other week and a wash and a polish with stages 1-3 meguirs did the trick

Tbh, you could probably just whizz over it with a machine polisher and some G3.

if you want to keep the car the same colour i'd advise you not to pour any acid over the paintwork, as it will most probably eat away at your paint and wont be doing anything good for it

Machine polish with G3 would probably be too harsh really for something just like that.

Probably best to:

Wash

Clay

Wash

Treat paint

Polish (can be done more than once to build up the layers)

Seal

and wax (can be done more than once to build up the layers)

But it really depends on 'how clean' you like your car really

Mmmm.. The whole problem with washing the car is that, I live in student dorms. And the only place you can really do this in is in the courtyard lol. With no access to a hose or anything, I'd have to have a few bucket's worth of water and whatnot. Mmmm, that and 600+ people staring at you. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good wash & wax guide. (Preferably with pretty pictures lol, I do well with pictures)

Okey well.. I kinda have a confession, I went down to me local Halfords, thinking I'd only buy the crap-removal spray, and then.. I lost myself:

Autoglym products. (2x Interior Shampoos, 1x Valet Cleaning, 1x Super Resin Polish)

Castrol GTX 4litre.

Bosch spark-plugs.

Bosch wipers.

Halfords Extreme Brilliance Bulbs.

Halfords Coolant. (They had an offer, needed to top-up my coolant tank anyways)

Halfords screenwash. (BOGOF.. )

Halfords no-misting spray. (So the windscreen doesnt go all foggy)

T-Cut Black Color Fast.

Turtlewax wash & wax.

Turtlewax Bug & tar remover.

Halfords 3-pack of microfibre cloths.

Chamois skin.

Halfords 12v Car polisher.

Errm.. Mebe I need to see a councillor lol.

P.S - LETS NOT FORGET THE TWO BUCKETS & SPONGE! xD Oh, now before I get raped, I did get two things outta it:

The manager gave me a complementary set of halford socket set (£30 instore) cos I had spent so much.. and I also got me a job

I think it was more towards the fact that the assistant manager and I have very similar views on who should & shouldnt be on the roads.
