really good !! nice to see it moving on !!

have you done all the work yourself ???

wicked nice to see it in stages did u do the smoothing urself or get garage to do it?

yup i do it all myself on my drive

in my spare time which isnt alot

i have over 300pics of the "progress" I've prob missed alot out but you can see what I've done

mmmmmmmm, shaweeeeet! you got a kinda how to on how you made the front bumper work? oh and BIGGER PICCIES hehehe

looks damn good dude, youve got some amazing skill :-)

i seriously have way too many pics lol

the front is littereally cut 2 bumpers apart n try n make them line up

you can adjust how low you want it n how far it sticks out, mines about 1inch lower than a 16v bumper

took me 1 day to get it to the last pic

and as for the rest some of the pics arent finished and the rear bumper i already dont want anymore

I've been given an idea :ninja:

the only bits i haven't decided on what I'm doing is with the door handles-no handles, a3 etc?

and the mirrors cos i dont want stubbys or dtm look

all ideas welcome

1 day.... god damn you

well start a thread, form day one post EVERY pic even if it takes you a day or two if you get bored save it in word and carry on later on :D

i could be persuaded to part with the front soon tho, i see a pic of a 6n with the new polo front bumper on it, i might have a go soon

also i really do have too many photos i'd be able to have my own sub section on here

Edited by polo82

haha own sub section ftw :p if i lived closer i woudl of had th ebumper off you :-(

when i finish more of the exterior of mine then i might consider making a few parts for people but i want mine done asap, I've still got a rear bumper cut into 6 pieces trying to get it all to line up, wings on the floor, i have too much going on and not enough time in the day

LMAO, random question mate BUT that bumper centre grille.. if you cut the bumper to narrow/widen it what do you do about the middle or side grilles? or do you have to widen it eithe rside if the grilles??

the 6n2 and the 6n bumpers are similar with a grind here n a bridge there it all goes together!

i didnt need to widen or narrow the 6n2 part of the bumper at all slightly dif shape i found but you can persuade things to go into place also you have to be careful of the metel brackets behind the bumper cos its very close to that,

but narrowing bumpers isnt that bad tbh ill put pics up of that soon!

I'm still trying to think what I've forgotten lol

my smoothed fuel cap

Photo-0210.jpg

theres prob still loads more but cant think of nout atm

oh 16v seats aswell

need ideas for door handles and mirrors still!

At last!

Front bumper looks pretty dam sweet, very different.

Are you running a front grill in the last pic? Cant tell as the pic is too small. Definitely think you could do some thing different with the grill.

The arse end look as low as every, reminds me of the old 16v.

Whats going on engine wise? Did you sort the gear box too?

thank you and well spotted no grill for no, custom grill of course going in aswell as custom everything else

engine is running ok sounding better, its sounding healthier but thats bings department mines the body work lol

but that'll be changed aswell soon anyway for something a lil different too!

so any thing that you'd change or add?

Do some thing silly with the grill, the front bumper deserves it, but I'm short on ideas.

I wouldnt mess around with the wing mirrors, I'm not a fan of silly wing mirrors. F1 style ones might work though.

What wheels have you got planed? You going to be running the same wheels as always?

nice. fucking more than nice but i'm too stunned to think of anything better.

cars lookin hot...nicely dun & good to see you doin the 6n2 moulded bumper!

cheers fellas

i was thinking of keeping the grill the same meterial as the bumper inserts at the min, the plastic mesh kinda thing! i think that'll work really well with the bumper and nice n simple to do

i wasnt thinking f1 stylee as i dont think it'd suit it much but i want some thing slightly different.......... but what???

and door handles??? to keep or not to???

as for wheels I've been looking for a while but theres nout that i can afford at the moment that i like, i dont know what style I'm after but i'll know em when i see em

i wouldnt mind some wide steelies temporarily if they came up locally at the right price but who knows dude

just run uber wide steelies anyway, if you get the right sort it will pimp hard

looks wicked so far dude, but black bonnet ftl :(

are you even doing all the painting work yourself at home? hhmm your only in reading...could be tempted to ask you to do some work on my car :p

Nice keep us updated :)

definatly wide steels i think, 14"s or 15" tho, find me a set dan!

all the work including paint is being done by me aswell yup, just keeps the cost down abit. its not a pro spray job but for the price its not bad at all

and the black bonnet i love, but it is sadly going soon, but i need to do a few more things before that goes! and then it will be red and very missed

ill update pics at the weekend once the new front is totally finished off. keep the comments coming, and more ideas, but remember this is not a finished project yet and is changing all the time.

One of the guy's i know from No-Rice just got rid of a set of banned 14"s. They looked the nuts.

Ho do you get around spraying in the shitty UK weather?

its called painting in a spray booth or enclosed garage
