not a showroom polish but pretty good for what they were like i reckon :-)

not sure what colour to paint the centers yet though

any ideas?

keep going on the polishing, what grade did you do from/to? and what colour is your car ;)

Yeah i'd say keep polishing them up to lighter grades and you should get them shinier.

like 60, 80, 120, 180, 240, 400, 800, 1200, 1500, 2000 etc.

i just used paint stripper and some scothbrite for cleaning up and then some weird polishing paste stuff and a little drill buffing attachment lol

ROFL! you cant polish wheels unless you know what doing :lol:

search for walshc in the F.A.Q's he did a how to on polishing ;)

i dont really know what I'm doing

but I'm not really fussed with like a pro Finnish

I'm only gonna run them over winter and into next year while i save for some new wheels

what colour do you reckon for centers?

well if you get a cream roof i say cream, there is a lad on here with a dark blue mk4 or teletudes with cream wheels i love it :thumbsup: if you want subtle kidna look same as them i did, vauxhall moonland grey ;)

well I'm not really lookin for anythin ott

and i need the money for my front wings to be repsrayed cos i need to get them flared and pulled quite alot for the fronts to fit so i cant really go and get a cream roof

but its a cool idea

mabye when i have more money

With the polishing you've done all the hard bit (getting the pitting and paint off) and you've left all the easy bits!

Should go down all the grades and then use the paste with the mop and you should get a finish like Polomons.

after 40 grade to 1500 grade wet and dry

iv just been polishing engine bay parts been going upto 4000 to get the mirror finish, seriously though mate just keep going up the grades and they will come up mint you have done all the hard part

i say invest in a mop and do it that way dude you'll only need to go to 1500 then and you will have it done in half the time

:lol: the club gti manchester people gave me a shit load of sand paper and said get polishing i was just doing what i was told!

i do believe thats because we have a brain cell in our head and arent completely nuts yet :lol:

but jonny, get your self a mop! i had £20 in ma pocket when i went to get mine i got 1 arbor 1 course stitched mop and brown compound and one fine loose mop with fine compund and still had money for a drink :-)
