OK, so i've currently got the G insured through a broker and the service i receive is poo to say the least, although the price is pretty cheap considering my prang last december.

Being nearly 28, i dont think that i should pay over the odds for car insurance, especially once its all up and running, it'll only be on the road to do 3000miles at the most (shows and the odd scareathon!)

I'm just wondering if anyones found a good company who'll allow modifications? I went on confsed.com and they only allow 6 mods so something will have to be left unsaid!

The best quote i've had is £702.68 iirc from HSBC but i've never heard of them doing car insurance so i dont know if i should go with them? I used to work in car insurance many moons back so i know what i should be expecting as customer services goes.

John, try hic or adrian flux. I've been quoted £900 for my mk1 eaton conversion with all the goodies, wheels coilies etc etc, all of it covered on a like for like basis so if say i crash the suspension wouldnt just be replaced with stadard polo crap but with proper h&r coilies.

yeah try hic mate, i've never had a problem with them and they are by far cheaper than any of the mainstream company's i tried. they specialize in modified cars and they seem to know there stuff too, which saves a lot of trying to explain stuff to some bint who has no idea what coilovers are

brentacre - I'm 28 too mate, got a top price for mine...

Brentacre are the cheapest for my g40 by quite a long way too, I'm also 28. The price is just decided by a power limit, you tell them everything else you do to it but as long as the power estimate is below the limit then the price isn't affected. Plus they are great guys to deal with and know about g40s too.
