MK1 DERBY GLS

As title says really.

Relectant to sell but have decided to take the plunge and sell all three (others are a MK2 Golf 16v and a MK1 Jetta).

Little bit of history:

I believe that I am only the 2nd owner of this car although I am not making any definite claims to that – it is just what I believe. I bought the car a couple of years ago from a very old chap, who I believe to be the original owner.

General info:

The car was totally standard but was in desperate need of a restoration, which I have started and only half completed due to the purchase of a mint MK1 Jetta (also for sale) and my daily MK2 16v Golf (also for sale). The Derby is pretty sound, runs like a dream and I have not had a single problem with it in my few years of ownership. I have totally cleaned the bay and engine parts and before the start of the resto looked very neat and tidy indeed. I have replaced the lower track rod arms and also the steering pole things (these cars don’t have the conventional set up). I have also changed the suspension for an adjustable ‘Phil J kit’ – with the rears being adjustable and the fronts set at 70mm lower (I think) with lowering spring caps fitted (an extra 10mm of lowerage). I also managed to source an early type grille (very rare) and have altered a pair of MK2 round lights to sit more naturally with the grille.

Additional info:

I have the original MK1 Derby grille and rectangle headlights too which I can sell with the car (at an extra price).

I also have a set of 7x13 Mattigs which I can sell with the car (at an extra price) with 165/55/13 Pirelli rubber fitted (I have 5 matching tyres all with good tread). I have refurbed these myself and just need to give them a clear top coat or you can take them as they are. Two tyres currently fitted and can get the other two fitted if need be.
