How to remove the rear view mirror??

Featured Replies

I would like to remove my rear view mirror ( i own a vw polo mk4) as I want to put some patterned fabric on it. I can't see to find the HOW TO in the manual.

Help would be much appreciated.

an axe , or is this a stupid suggestion?

just a little bit silly, I cant seem the loosen the mirror unit from the holder attached to the window

erm i can help a little, dont pull it, my mate did so and found him self paying out £120 for a new windscreen

my windscreen has like three big stone chips in it anyway......ok....noted: DO NOT PULL....I think it might be a screw type arrangement....

is it actually stuck on the windscreen ?, because thats just a simple sucktion problem

I know on 6N2s and Lupos you have to twist the mirror anti-clock wise from the base and it pops out. Give that a try, I can't guarantee it will work nor will I be held responsible if the windscreen shatters

Twist it counter-clockwise mate

twist and pull ftw

thanks Will - I'm guessing that you know its me??? as in Charlotte and what does FTW mean?

for the win

ahhhhhh apologies :)
