that astra is just ratting by numbers, roof rack (check), stickers (check), random shit on roof (check), checks (check). i'm not a hater of rat look (in fact i love rat look when its done with some imagination), but when its just the same old crap it gets very boring very quickly. ok the inside is cool as ice in a freezer, but if only he had carried some of that imagination on to the outside. it does look better in these pics than in the show pics that were posted the other day, but its still the same old stuff on a different car.

and comparing it to rolo's is a bit unfair, rolo's is the only modern car i've seen that pulls the rat look off really well (which is quite an accomplishment), and this is just the run of the mill trying too hard rat.

admittedly it has the roofrack n checkers n whatnot. but it just seems to pull all of those things off much better than most do. and some of the rust is actualy natural (well he's done a bloody good job of it if it isn't), its not all where paint has been stripped purposely.

As for rolos. yeh ok, i see your point lol. It wipes the floor with this tbh. but this wipes the floor with most other rat wannabes too.

I always think its funny that if you get a mk1 Golf GTI and drop it on some BBS RM/RS its a timeless look. But if you rat a car with all the typical rat things then its not trying hard enough.

I'm not saying I'm any different, I like a dropped mk1 Golf GTI on BBS RM/RS but I don't like seeing rat things that are just matte black with a roof rack and some chopped springs.

I do like the Astra though, I think its cooooool.
