small word of advice having been there and done that. get on the phone to rally design and get some rubber socks for the rose joints, the grit and dirt wears the rod ends out pretty quickly otherwise. i'd also recommend rubber inners and poly outers for the TCAs.

enjoy setting the wheelbase/castor, its alot easier than you might think :) oh and driving it afterwards, worth every penny!!

That was quick! Glad you sorted the oil pick up situation. Pretty sure you could have used the mk3 dipstick tube rather than cutting down the valver one. Make sure you use the mk3 dipstick though.

Another tip. If your car is an L or M reg, then you will need an earlier spec mk3 drivres side driveshaft with that gearbox on there. Or if you have the original gearbox from the car, drop the oils out and pinch the output flange from it. Consequence of not doing so means worn out CV joints in quick time.

Gave the sump a couple of coats of por15, awsome stuff, so much harder than hammerite! Crap picture though, its much shinyer than this

Need a new gasket though before thats fitted and sealed up.

Also painted the guard things in the same stuff because they were in a sorry state!

Vauxhall 256mm conversion :-D

Brand new discs, brand new hoses, a set of green stuff pads and a brand new set of mintex pads, the callipers and nescesary shoulder bolts!

AND they fit perfectly under my 14's

So thats the front end suspension all sourced, just gota put it all together and move on to the back!!

Reckon I need some of that por15 stuff. Need to go on a shopping spree on frost

renegade you are doing really well with this, its looking ace, love the subframe, wish i knew about the shallow sump method before getting rid of the 1.3 engine, but not to worry.

which exhaust are you planning on using? i am running the standard 16v down pipe and it catches on the anti roll bar if the anti roll bar is fitted in the right place, i had to fit brackets to enable the exhaust to clear.

wish i had your bank account to get my car to a similar standard, top job young man.

What car are the new front brake hoses off please?

Vauxhall hoses dude, they have the same thread and pitch fitment for the vw solid brake line end and are banjo fit to the vaux caliper.

Do you know what model of Vauxhall Saf? Found a Vauxhall 256mm setup I had when I moved house earlier this year, so might get round to fitting it eventually - but need new hoses. The ones I've seen the Caddy boys use are a million feet long!

Cavalier/astra/vectra i would assume the 16v jobbies jobbies as thats where the calipers come from that are suitable for the convo.

failing that you know, the lupo gti lucas 54 calipers i have, have banjo fit hoses, so may be able to use them instead.

if can measure up length of the lupo hose and diameter of the banjo fitting just let me know and ill get on the case

late mk4 16v polos have banjo hoses, not sure of size of the banjo fitting tho

I was told mk3 astra 16v hoses and callipers but id imagine there are other models too
