I know of a bready for sale. My mates moms. Pretty sound little car ;)

Not a GT but that wouldn't be a problem to sort

How easy where them bearings to fit?

And how much did all the new springs set you back? Guessing you got um from VW?

Bearings were a piece of piss to be fair mate, the shoes with all their springs were more of a pain.

Spring kits was from eurocarparts

I want a mk3 to play with now, thinking stripped out GT bready :-D

Do it jon... i'll take the rocco off your hands if you do, and put some decent wheels on it :p jokes jokes dont ban me!

Haha don't tempt me Dan

I'm so gona take the pics down the day before u start lol... Then come and help you.

I like ecp, free next day delivery!

Sweet

U get discount with delivery tho?

Then again, the money you would save in petrol probs be more than the discount. If it was only something small anyways.

Managed to get the fuel pump fitted last weekend, I'm assuming I can wire it up to the existing wiring thats there for the original pump

Then the fuel tank all connected up:

And rear axel back on, though I still need to fit the new brake lines and maybe paint the drums to prevent them rusting

Coming together now, just awaiting the manifold off saf and we're good to go lol

I've never seen the facet mounted where the original pump goes.

All I've seen have been in the engine bay.

But its coming along now dude. And yeah id paint them drums. I'm doing mine in silver to stop them from going all gay on me.

I dont know about others but that ones ment to be mounted as close to the tank as possible, because it "pushes fuel" rather than "pulls it" if youm get me!

It will still work in the engine bay but i just saw an opertunity to simplify the wiring, although I do still have to look at fitting a cut out switch thing that knocks the fuel pump off if the car is in an accident.

I think i'll paint the drums black, mainly because por15 is expensive shnizzle lol and I have black left over from the tank

yeh they are meant to be mounted as close to the fuel tank as possible, its just convenient more than anything to put them in the bay, lethargy mainly!

an inertia switch off a ford will work, just two wires to fit, and a push button to reset it. I've got mine mounted by the fuse box and to date its only tripped 3 times in 4 months over freaking huge potholes, you could easily fit it in the dash, which is what ill do when i can be arsed redoing the wiring on the peril.

you could wire the fuel pump live wire into a relay as a switched live, which will take a current direct from the battery to the pump (via your fused relay/relay and inline fuse and your intertia switch).

the relay pin out diagram is in the mk3 carb thread pretty late on, i posted it up =]

looking good now mate, get some braided brake hoses, suprised you aint already got some, you can get a mk1 golf kit from gsf, goodridge.

whats left bar the mani?

tank looks good dude, id whip the strap off and give it a lick of paint, green to match the car would look ace

Looking good Dan :)

Yeah I would get some braided hoses as well.. would seem a shame not to especially after the brake setup you are putting on.
