chris with a mk1 golf afh engine with an 8p box fitted a mk4 fly and mk3 clutch with mk4 starter as its slimmer, the mk4 flywheel wouldnt engage so he had to take it apart again and fit a mk3 fly! g

Bet its 8v

Gona run the fans in front of the rad, so they are pushing air through the rad, just got to move the horn somewhere else as it fouls

Is it possible to run the fans on exhaust manifold side and have them draw air through instead of push?

Makes for much better cooling you see.

  • Author

Perfectly possible, makes more sense too because then i dont have to move the horn

Not quite sure what i was thinking but it must have been in the back of my mind that they'd end up that side because i haven't done the ties up lol

Looks good bud!

So this new secret / possible G40 engine is lined up ready to buy then?

there are 2 types of those fans for both "push" and "pull" applications. If they are designed to go on the back of the rad you'll have to run them there otherwise they won't actually work at all as the blades are a completely different shape, not just the motor polarity reversed

I'm quoting the ebay advert here so it might be wrong lol

"Provides exceptional cooling and up to 1720 CFM each (Cubic feet per minute)

The unique fan blade design allows you to pull or push air with the same velocity.

The motor is easily reversible for any application. Most other fans are designed for one-way air flow."

I'm going to do some testing tonight and see if it feels any different from one direction than the other

Either way once the cars moving I've gone from a 0.13846 m² rad to a 0.169575 m²

Get an oil cooler.

Just cause they look sick

i just dont think you, ll have enough cooling mate.

It'll be finnnneeee!!

Besides you haven't seen the size of the vents in the bumper I'm making...

A vent perfect for an oil cooler ;)

Brisco you bum nugget, the new purchase sounds like the dream spec of 'you know what' sort of engine, not much jealously from here, honestly

You selling your 4 branch by any chance?

What a fag

Hes finally realised 16v is for fucking homos!
