This is my mates car and he is useless when it comes to selling things and is not on any forums, so i thought id help him out.

His usual advet style is: This is my car and its blue.

So this is his car and it is blue. He's had it for a while now and it has been as good as gold.

Its a late 1959 small back window model in RHD, it was brought over from Cyprus in 1995 and i think he is the second owner since its been here. The first guy spent a few quid on it in 1999, mainly with the full respray in what i think looks a bit like indigo blue. It has every mot since 95 and a stack of history too.

Since he's had it its been treated to a fulll service including new leads and plugs (50 miles ago), new running boards, chrome trim, towel rail US bumpers, correct 59 front indicators and rear snowflakes, new hub caps (not the cheap ones that rust) plus a few more bits i cant think of right now. He's had a new steering rack and the correct 59 steering wheel and stalk put on too. I think it still has the original 1200 engine and gear box, it all drives very smoothly. The starter can be a little sticky sometimes, but that might be due to lack of use.

It has a bus station custom made 5 inch narrowed beam with new mini shocks, the inner wings haven't been touched. The beam cost him around £600 and its hardly seen the light of day. I think the rear has gone down by 2 splines, plus it has new 145 conti smart car tyres up front and the std 155's out back. Since it has been lowered it has done all of about 2 miles as the weather has been so bad.

The interior is in good condition, it has cream seats and mango door cards, all in pretty good shape. The dark grey carpet set is nothing special, but was put in new by the last owner. The dash is untouched and in really good condition.

The car has tax, but no mot, but only because he hasnt got around to doing it and probably wont. I think he brought the car liking the idea of the air cooled stuff (i have a 59 ghia and another friend has a 57 bug), but his heart lays with early watercooled vw's and he has just got another mk2 golf project.

It does need some loving, i think one of the heater channels has seen better days, plus a few small holes on the floor. The previous owner has done some general patching up which I'm not a fan off, but seems fine.

He has started to mod the headlamp bowls so it could run silly low, but he hasnt finished it. I have no idea if the wings are all original, but when he fitted the the snowflakes he found the original holes which would suggest they are. It doesnt have semiphores, I'm not sure if its a cyprus thing or they were removed when it was painted.

Its taking him and his missus to a couple of shows and other than that its just been sat in the garage at his mums house.

It will make someone a grat little car and i think it looks wicked. I'll try and get some better photos off him, but this is all i have for the moment.

If i did have so many projects i would have had it for my other half, but she says it has to be cream and i dont have time for a full colour change.

Make him an offer somewhere around £2900 and you'll get yourself a cracking little car.
