Scraping problems...

Featured Replies

Currently running coilovers and 13's on my 6n.

I'd normally expect the bodywork to catch but it's the anti roll bar links and the lower arms that are catching everything!

I know there's probably no way of solving this but does anybody have a solution (other than raising the coilovers or changing the wheels)???

Thanks

Sorry, i didn't make myself clear.

What i meant was the wheels and tyres don't rub on anything. The anti roll links and lower arms catch easily on bumps and things though as they are very low to the ground underneath the car.

I was wondering if there's any modifications that can be done to prevent this? I considered shorter anti roll link bolts but it still won't give me much more clearance.

i assume you have a profile of say 40 or 50 on a 175 on your classics. This isn't much tyre at all and it will cause problems, heck my mk1 golf smacks the shit out the control arm mounts if i slam it right down. so i raise it slightly the only thing you can do unless you want to buy tractor tyres. it ruins the looks but hey your driving round on shitty dangerous british roads its something you gotta live with

They're 165/55/13 Nankangs on Smoor Roadsters.

Yeh i suppose your right, our roads are appaling!

I'm afraid you just have to live with it, theres nothing worse than the noise of your pride and joy smacking the floor, but the underneaths can take a beating

take it like a man

just raise it up abit if you arnt happy.

all about the sparks ;)

All part o' the fun ;)

Can you get anything to raise the antiroll bar? i know Venom do it for Mk4 Golfs...

Yeh pride and joy smashing off the floor is horrible aint it?

Taken a load of the wax coating off so i need to re-coat it ASAP!

I don't think raising the bar will help, it's the linkage bolts that scrape and the lower arm etc :(

pics needed i wanna see some slammage
