Hey. I've got a set of 6n2 gti bbs wheels, to go on a 6n2 1L..(edit, cheers) and I'm looking to lower it using just springs, all i can afford for the short term. (student see)

I'm bacicially asking what some of you are running. Whats the lowest i can go without it being inpractical/scraping/no other work having to be done..

But obviously looking sweet. I was maybe thinking 40/40?

I hate to ask such questions but the search bar just wasnt having it.

Get a 60/60 kit and it should be fine...would help if you stated what car they were going on!

I'd personally save up a bit more and just get some cheap coilovers of ebay

mhmh, but i hear so much moaning about cheap coilovers. I thought it would make more sence to get a higher end lowering kit, than a budget set of coilovers.

I'd go for a decent quality springs and shocks kit. That way you will get good ride quality, where as cheap coilovers won't give you that.

I'm down 40mm all around...great as its my daily but regret getting coils...will be soon though...

Save up for a decent kit. Lowering springs on standard shocks will shorten the life of your shockers no end so you'd be better off changing the lot for something good.

Mate, that looks mint. Yeah, i travel 70 miles a day see. College and back. And often with 4 lads in the back, so i reckon 40mm all down is the best option.

Now i have to find a buy a set!

40mm shouldn't be to bad on standard shocks.

I've just lowered my polo mk4 6n 40ml all around its fine but a little bouncy over spped ramps so i sugguest getting the shockers 2

easiest thing is get a 60/60 kit or 60/40 kit... get a 2nd hand set
