1) Pressed plates are not illegal aslong as visible correct?

2) Whilst personalising plates, for example, people putting 13 close together to make it look like a B would be illegal?

3) Is it illgal to, for example, have a 9 but leaving a section missing to make an S, or is there a limit as to how much you can leave missing? or aslong as it is visible as a 9 to cameras? Ill show you.

answer to no.1: correct

answer to no.2:it Is illegal the law is letters must be a certain size and distance apart but you can (no.3)

answer to no.3: you cant leave a gap but what you can do is instead of the black bolt covers get either yellow or white accoding and drill it so it makes a 9 a S

Still illegal. The spacing is also illegal. Should be A9 UBY, or you can have it all together like A9UBY, but thats it, any other modifications to the spacing/size of letters is deemed as illegal.

And using the wrong coloured screws to make the letter/number look like a different letter/number is also illegal!

the letters must be a certon style it must have the cerrect amount of spaceing and be of black letters on reflective backround the german pressed metal plates are diffent style of lettering and spaceing is diffent frome current british laws scotland and ile of man have diffent laws on plates tho

Sadly you cant do any of the above. Even using the black/yellow/white covers is illegal as a misrepresentation of the original plate.

They have been cracking down on it recently and could get you pulled. More hassle than its worth. a possible £30 Fixed Penalty Notice and Vehicle Defect Retification notice. Anyone caught displaying an illegal number plate more then twice could have the number revoked by the DVLA.

pressed paltes (eg german ones are Still illegal. the letter isent the cerrect font)

if fited to a car regestered after 01 september 2001 they must havea makers name postcode on the bottom and a british kyte stamp in the right hand corner

the onley pressed paltes you can use on british roads now adays are black backround with silver letters BUT MUST BE FITED TO A VICHELE REGESTERED BEFORE 1ST JAN 1973 THEY CAN ALSO USE BLACK A WHITE PLATES

you can not move the letters arround in the order you want them or push them tougher or screw a yellow bolt in the middle of the black letter to make a nine into a S etc

got pulled recently, only noticed the plates due to searching the car inside/out, and said their illegal because they were metal and to just get them changed

uk font pressed metal plates btw.

They were full of crap and you bought it - you can get pressed plates with the british standard kitemark on them,been fitted to thousands of commercial vehicles in 70s,80s and 90s.

The old bill were running pressed plates themselves in the 90s,cant suddenly make an existing car illegal like that.

The BSi ones conform entirely,they're just pressed,Dubmeister sell them. iirc.
