i hear a low rumbling noise when the car is running and the gearstick is in neutral (manual car)

the noise goes however when i press the clutch. is this a real problem and what is there that i should do to fix this.

I also hear a much louder rumbling when driving in gear but not giving gas. as soon as i give gas the noise goes.

to me it sounds as if something is loose however i really have no clue.

Any suggestions will be really appreciated.

Sounds like it could be the clutch release bearing on the way out to me

would be a gearbox out job to repair

Right so nothing i can do myself then. how much does it cost roughly?
