So the Polo has sadly gone :crybaby: and I've moved on. It was a bloody long search for my next car, mainly because I changed my mind every 2 minutes about what I wanted to do...new car...20vt the polo....new car.....20vt the polo. But after my sister bought an Audi A3 2.0T S-Line in black (the one with the BBS splits  ) and she let me drive it, I fell in love with it and decided thats what I wanted. Couldn't quite afford one as nice as her's, but eventually found this one with everything I wanted

I'm know the proud owner of of this:-

Audi A3 S-Line 2.0TDi DSG

2004 Dolphin Metallic Grey, 52,000 on the clock, DSG gear box - meaning paddles shift gears 8-) , half leather seats, climate control, aero wipers, cruise control and 18inch alloys, fogs and 64 MPG!!

cheers mate yea i know what you mean, did necessarily buy it for speed though, it is fairly quick, surprises me sometimes, but then I've come from a 75bhp Polo, so it would seem quick to me. I've bought it for the MPG's as i do a fair bit of mileage a year, plus its prob the nicer car i can insure being 20 lol

like it dude, but I've heard (From my step dad after he owned two audi's with dsg boxes) that they are crap, you cant change down 2 gears at once if you need too the engine doesent allow it, now to me that seems a mega dissadvantage tbh :?

my DSG drops 2 no problem at all?!

Dont look bad mate, least it is an early one without the single frame grill, looks much nicer.

Good luck with the DSG though mate, can be problematic rather then automatic! Should have got a 6 speed manual imo, but thats my biased opinion from working at audi! Dont be too worried though, some of them are good.

Need to get them badges off mate, 1st thing id do, then get the front grill surround and badge sprayed black, its a nice colour for it, dolphin grey iirc?

must say i havnt tried it, I'm obsessed with MPG at the mo, so just leave it in 'D' and try not to rag it. The DSG is just toy to have there from time to time for me, dont use it very often.

Cheers Matty, yea I've heard the boxes are iffy but fingers crossed it'll be ok. Yea someone at the weekend said get the badges off lol I'm not gonna mod this one, just wanna appreciate its Audi-nice-ness lol Am tempted by the black grill and badge tho. Yep Dolphin Grey spot on, or did u read it from above :paranoid:

Nah didnt read that bit till after mate! lol Iv seen so many i know pretty much all the colours names, theres lava grey, dolphin grey, ibis white, avus silver, reflex silver, moro blue, kingfisher blue, phantom black, etc etc. Geek!

You cant not debadge it mate, badges can be put back on, plus everyone knows what it is anyway! Just little bits to make it yours, and not the same as all the others.

lol cheers man, its reli hard not to but i am resisting

You would have to go to halfrauds or an an audio specialists and get a fascia plate for a double din unit. Halfords do do most cars though mate.

  • Author

ah cool is it hard tho? Read a guide on the net,and it pretty much suggested taking the dash apart

Nah, should be pretty easy, the concert head unit in yours takes up the space of a double din unit anyway if iirc. I think it might also depend on what version a/c control panel yours has. Either way it is really easy to take apart if you have the radio removal keys (which i have! :p ), il take a look for if u want mate? Dont let that dodgey kuran touch it though!

  • Author

ah cool yea i showed Kuran n he's "going to look into it" lol na mines a single Din its the Synphony one that is double din, which is what my sis has. I have the climate unit with out heated seats if that helps?

Right'o,

Gave the car its first OCD clean by me today, took me 4 and a half hours lol. Here its goes then

 First of all hoovered the whole car

 Then cleaned the wheels, used some of the chemical guys Premium Blue Rim and wheel cleaner mixed with water.

 Then rinsed the car off using a pressure washer

 Washed the car, starting at the top, using Chemical Guys maxi suds, lambs wool wash mit and two bucket method

 Rinsed the car off again, and dried.

 Cleaned the windows inside and out using AutoGlym Fast Glass

 Cleaned the leather seats using Sonus Leather Cleaner, and Sonus Leather conditioner

 Applied Meguiars High Gloss Tyre Gel, with tyre gel applicator

 Taped off all the window rubbers, and machine polished the car using Meguiars G220 machine polisher and AutoGlym Super Resin Polish, was going to use the compounds but it was my first time using the machine polisher and I know it can go horribly wrong, so I thought I'd do some more homework first before I attacked the car with it lol.

 Then applied back to black on the grills, Autosol Chrome polish and gave the engine bay a tidy up too
