My polo makes a knocking noise every now and again.

Sounds like it's coming from the front somewhere.

The car is all the way down on the coilovers.

I am aware of problems on most cars such as anti roll links and CV boots/joints but are there any common ones on the Polo 6n that may have occurred on my car?

when you turn corner does it knock or when you hit a bump, how low do your coiliovers go?

is it a 16v or not?

if it is its likely the arb or driveshaft knocking on the chassis leg

It's the 1.6 8v.

It's wound all the way down so i am guessing 80-100mm?

I don't think it particularly happens at either point (bump or turning) just does it randomly sometimes whilst driving.

check the lower arm bolts are tightened up mate. bet thats the problem

wish bones the rubber goes in them just changed my front two only 37 quid brand new from gsf. and make sure you get them with ball joints on them there a idiot to change over from old ones. and if you just need one change both as other one will go shortky after.

My wheels catch the inside arch on full lock Ed!

My drive shaft was catching on the chasis still not sure what to do to be honest ???

it was lowered 80mm on the Phillj suspension kit so not much i can do really well i dont think so anyway ???

Any ideas ?? This could maybe the problem were signs of rubbing on my driveshaft !

Jack up the car and get a crow bar underneath the wheel at the front and chack the lower arm bushes to see if there is play in the bush.

Try tightening up the top nuts again, once the suspension settles they need tightening once or twice to get them on right.

If you're all the way down at the back you may also be hearing one of the back box pronges hitting against the rear beam, this happened to me, just need to shorten the prong thats fouling and it will be reeet :)
