i am looking for a polo (1996-2000) for when i start driving in december

are there any good/cheap places to buy them, which insurance companies are the best and does being a member of club polo give me a discount on insurance??

some insurers dont offer the owners club discount since its so easy to make up a forum and turn it into a "official club" and blah blah blah

i struckled to fine a quote under £2.3k for my polo. (but its all in my name not my parents but if its your parents policy most places would offering about £1-2k depending on how truthful u were)

trying to find a decent polo. hmm.. well mine came from a auction house and its fine only 1 major issue. u just gotta look hard man, i mean on these cars they go forever. u just gotta look out for key things ( ie. the normal faults u find with these car)

i hear that adrian flux offer 15% off if you're a member of club polo though??

i think i will insure with them anyway cos they've offered the cheapest quote

what engine was your polo?? cos 2.3k is loads, I've been quoted about 1800 by direct line, gonna try n find out bout being insured on my dads policy tho cos apparently you can build up your own no claims aswell

yeah theres alot of looking to be done haha! main problem is that my dad wants me to have one thats done >65,000!

I got my polo lsat november for my first car for £1,000 and it had only done 45,000. Got a quote off Endsleigh for £1,400 which I took.

The car has been great, nothing happened to it apart from the gearbox went last night :(

You really just need to look about but if you can't can't all the paperwork for the car i.e previous MOT's, services etc I would get a vehicle check on it. I was lucky as the car has always been in the family and nothing happened to it. If you are going to look at a few I would recommend taking someone with you who is decent with cars to make sure it's all alright.

Your first years insurance is always through the roof like, but you just gotta handle it. I've got a quote of £900 for my second year so it's getting better.

If you speak to them and haggle abit you will get the price down, even if it's just alittle bit.
