mk3 polo gt coilovers problem

Featured Replies

I'm having a problem finding a set of coilovers for my mk3 gt, every website i go on mk3 polos arent even in the list of polos that the kit is for.

all the sets i find are for a polo 6n, will the kit for the polo 6n fit my polo? or does anyone know wher i can get a cheap set from new or used?

coilovers on a mk3 are hard to come by because its hard to make coilovers that will fit the front, philj is selling rear ones for a mk3 for £150 i think tho..

he can also get a full set made but i think u have to provide the struts ETC and it cost a bit

^^ jimmy is you gt down 60mm?

yeah, all round at the mo, but going 80mm with topcaps on front on wednesday :) why u ask ?

mines down 40mm, my old one was down 80mm with caps and was almost undrivable through anywere with speedbumps , but it did look good!

you got a build thread or something so i can sneek a peak at the 60mm drop?

cheers

I'm actually a little worried about that as i do ALOT of speed bumps and the roads around here are really bad!

maybe ill go without the topcaps...

i very narrowly managed to avoid gettin stuck on the bumps at no-rice, stil twatted them, i hope your runnig a straight through!

hmm looks good, but i want to go lowererrrr

man i hate the bumps at no-rice, i always hit them!!

thanks dude, ill show u a pic when the front goes lower :)

ok mate, you planning on sellin your 60mm kit?

A company called Pi makes coilies for Mk3's, and GAZ, and i think theres a couple more that will, but as said, you will have to send them a pair of front legs so that they can make the coilies, as the hub and strut is one complete unit. This is why coilies for Mk3's generally cost £600+ - they are essentially made to order.

i am, but philJ has 1st dibs I'm afraid.

its a weitec 60/40 kit with adjustable rear shocks, ill let u know if anything changes tho if u want ? :)

xcore- are you running phil j coilovers at the back?

think so, was on the car when i got it. ^^ thats not my current car with the coils on.

that looks really tidy man :)

so thats how low mine is gona be (at the front) when i get my suspention done, looks pretty damn low!!

^^ yea miss it!

yep, 80mm + caps looks pimp but unpracticl, tbh you only live once so you might aswell do it!

fair enough. what is the ride like with them on, stiff as hell??

yep, iv got a rear strutbrace and a halfcage welded in, so it is very stiff and solid, and extremely tail happy on roundabouts in the wet! nearly lost it a good half dozen times and iv only owned it 3 weeks
