debating about styles of cars is so lame

what looks good, looks good

what looks shit looks shit

imo of course

agreed

well that idea fell flat on it's arse...

anyone else???

the thind that definitely doesnt do it for me is when people try well to hard to achieve their chosen look. Sometimes it can look good, but other times it just looks od and out of place, like bodykits. Subtle mods are definitely the way forward, especially when "euro-ing"

thankyou,now that's what i was after,honest opinions :D

tbh that aint the best euro pic in the world.

that stance is utterly shite!!

imo of course :D

new-euro = good (smooth low wide)

new-rat = BIG NO NO (rusty bonnet)

But in this case YES!!

rust.jpg

old-gen-rat= good (full no-resto)

old-mint-euro= good (full resto)

Rat will never take over euro but if it does count me out!

rat is shit, just looks like a pile of turd on wheels usually

euro = the win

Euro deffo but OEM +even better

I've never liked rat, its just what people go for when they cant be fucked fixing their car.

jeeez this forum is getting repetitive.... who gives a monkeys.

new cars suit euro

old(air cooled, NOT your mk2 golf/mk3 polo FFS) cars suit rat

i enjoy rat and euro tbh

Overall I prefer Rat, as it's more of a laugh and can be more innovative. I'm bored of a lot of euro look. For example, stretched tyres do nothing for me. A lot of euro look is just a trend with people copying each other. Trying too hard is a factor that affects Rat and Euro looks

i do like both i was just wondering where everybody stood on the situation :D

i love rat more because i prefer air cooled but i do appreciate the attention to detail and crispness of a proper euro car, that Mk2 golf i put up wasnt the best i admit, haven't got any pics of a decent euro'd car tbqh...

i think I'm gunna some up this topic in a word:

Its all about the Volvo stylesssss

my mate offered me his volvo 240? the other day, decked on 13" wellers with welded diff and 2 buckets for £400

awesome to drift in :D

but he reckons it wont pass its next m.o.t due to it rotting away beneath him

so I'm sticking with the golf

Euro

These debates always just turn into people ramming their opinions down everyone elses throats..

Euro - Such a diverse style these days tbh, its not really just case of 'decked on little wide wheels with pressed plates'.. its much more than that, though if you want to class 'Euro' and a specific genre, its defo FTW.

Rat - cool a fuck tbh, search for the 'nasty fasty' on youtube, is a VW Fastback, pure rust, you can see the wheel from the inside, through the arch, but its on air ride and just grinds the road. Tbh we all know, rat is an OLD car (6 year old cars dont rust that much and you know it)! that's body has deteriorated over the years but the mechanical side has been maintained.

Imo, 'Euro' is the new Rat, rat's been going with the US hotrod guys and then the aircooled VW guys for decades, its different from the norm but has a damn strong following! 'Euro' as its called, is like the more modern version of Rat, it wasnt that big like 5 or 6 years ago, when the Maxxy P boys ruled the roost (apparently) but now its got a huge scene, by originalyy setting out to be something different.

I dont see anything wrong with taking influence from the Rat guys, and using some of their ideas on more modern cars, i mean Mk1 GTi's have hit 30 years old, even the Mk2's are old enough to be complete rust buckets..

Its all 'each to their own' etc.. cause at the very end of the day, you can do what you want with your own car, it doesnt matter what anyone else says as long as you, the owner, is happy with it.

Ramalama ding dong.

its all in the making of the car, you no the car you see for sale dream of then buy then devlop change part.. dream more.. find new idea.. find old ideas...... some where in all the time of owning the car it will see a bit of rat if you can call it that like the crap feeling when you put you are winter wheels on or just dont have the money to sort out a bit of rust or a dent or two so you wear the primer wit pride... i think the vw lover are the only people that make good of the hard times and play on what they got. or can make there ride stand out and still be cool at low cost.

if you were in any other car cult and saw say a modded saxo wit steels or primer youd just think cheepskate (and not just cos its a saxo)

i think the looks and ideas in the style such (euro) and other style changes year by year.. this years newave might be next year euro if u get me.

more pic less talking

Sorry, but yawn.

Nothing is best, because everyone's opinion differs.
