i have a mk 4 polo and i am going to stick a mk 5 polo steering wheel on it.

just wanted to know how to get the steering wheel off the mk 5, i tried it but couldnt figure it out i think i had it but not sure just wanted a second opinion really?

and just making sure that it will fit properly with the air bag working to?

haaa ha aha aha aha ha sorry i couldnt help but laugh

the haynes manual actually states "this requires patience"

you have to put a screwdriver into the holes on the back of the steering wheel (whilst half a turn from the wheel being straight) and push a big circular retaining ring for the airbag towards the outside of the steering wheel (if i remember correctly) - dont quote me on that, you may need to push the metal ring inwards towards the centre of the wheel..... i dont have the haynes manual handy here at work!

good luck... it will only slightly p**s you off! lol

refitting is reverse of the removal...... ie, push the airbag and it clicks into place.
