Hey, can you get 17 inch alloys on a mk4/5 polo? I'm dropping it by 40mm if that helps at all lol?

I'd say 16" max... I've got 15s on my mk4 and I think they're too big sometimes...

try dubmeister.co.uk far better choice of wheel styles and sizes to suit a mk4, mk5.

you will probably have rubbing problems with 17's and depending how far its lowered, 16's look alright but 15's are probably your best option

ok thanks for all your help, i met aguy a while back who did have 17's on his polo so I'm gonna try and track him down and find out how, if not then i'll just lower it and put 15's on.

i got 15" on mine and they look perfect, lowered 70-80 mm to without scrubbing even with fullcar and no archwork

sweet, wheres a good place to buy lowering springs to lower a mk4 6n2 by 70/80mm? from what people have said it sounds like 15's are the way to go

I think your car really really suits 17s and its proof that 13s on a 6N2 are far gayer than 17s on a 6N2!!

Thanks :) Yes I think 17s suits the car good! I have 15s on the vinters :) But the 17s are stiff to drive with.. with about zero travel in the suspension and 51psi in the tyres I feel every litle stone on the road And I must watch the road! But all for the looks!

haha my gf's road has huge speed bumps on it, I've already informed her that soon shes gonna have to walk to the end of the road when i come to pick her up haha!

DONT DO IT! i had 17" on my 6n and it ripped the bushe's to fcuk i had it lowered about 60mm with 195/40/17 pirelli pzero nero's on it! it did handle ace untill the front drivers wishbone snapped

195/40-17 is way too big for 6N/6N2! If you use 185/35-17, as I am, the wheelsize will be correct! the 195/40-16 is bigger then 185/35-17

Come on, you cant blame the wheels for the ripped bushes. That will be your lack of maintenance and your driving style..............

16" are pushing it to get a good stance

i had 17s on my mk5 when i bought it.

lowered 50mm it only used to rub slightly on the rear, not much tho

but i do prefer my car decked on 14s, has to be said

The car dont get used in the winter and is on stands having new powerflex bushes and a new coat as i type! And my drivin style is slow n show! It must of been them 195/40-17 tyres being to tall of a radius. Back to them 185.35.17 tyres were can i get em from? And how stretched are they on that 7" rim?

i have 17's on my polo, lowered 40mm all round, rubs a little with 3 people in my car.

I say go for it - I reckon 16/17" wheels look pretty damned cool on a Mk4/5. Better than 13s (far too small) and maybe even 14s tbh.

mm, well i only intended to lower it by 40 mm or so but if i get coilovers i can just mix and match cant i, just try different hegiths see if it rubs.

anyway, as soon as i get payed ill be getting some of the parts, so i'll let you know how it all goes

This is on 7" wide rim. 7" is the widest rim the tyre is legal on. And I have NO SCRUBBING AT ALL! Not even with 4 in the car!

I think 14s are to small on the MK4/5.. to small to look good. 15s are the smallest I like on them..

The only thing that is important with this tyres are that you have to lower Alot! I have about 100mm drop, but I think anything less then 80mm drop will make this look wierd, couse of the very low tyre profile!
