Will slamming car down abit knock up insurance premium

Featured Replies

On my re-newal which is due 18th nov '08 I'm taking insurance with kwik fit. I'm gonna slam it down abit but not dramatically, probs about 40/40, 60/40 or 60/60.

I'm really just wondering if anyone has had insurance previously/now with kwikfit and the premium hasn't gone up much/at all with it lowered.

Cheers,

Rich.

probably will go up but you'll have to phone them up to find out.

I got my cheapest renewal quote from KwikFit so would like to know peoples experience with them aswell.

Mines up on 15th Dec and i need mods covered!

Declaring my mods knocked my insurance up - only a little though. Bout 100 a year (i think - cant remember now lol)

Haha sounds weird, probably will raise it but i don't think to much, i think it's normally two options 0-50mm and 50-120mm or somthing like that :?

Dean what mods did you declare?

Wheels, suspension etc..?

All depends on the insurance company.

For example last year adrian flux quoted me £600 on my car standard, but if my car was modified even with just an air filter and window tints it went DOWN by £280

I am looking at renewing again now and this year my car has a whole new engine, so looks like my insurance has now gone up!

all depends on the insurer, why not ring them and ask?

Adrian Flux is a broker though isnt it?

So it depends on what company they use..

Yes they are, but you always deal with Adrian Flux you dont deal with the insurance company that your insurance is actually with.

They are always really helpful are Adrain Flux, aslo at the moment they are offering to beat any other quote so give them a try!

i declared my alloys and paid about £20 extra then this year i lowered <60mm and that was about £20 extra. Thats with diamond.

am sure when my mate declared his suspension his insurance company said if it lower than 50mm they wont insure it cant remember what company it was on
