I will stick an axe in his head for £500. I've killed before and I'll do it again.

I'll just need your account details and pin number...

i wouldnt "stop buying" i would just be very careful...

- if something looks too cheap to be true, be suspicious.

- if something is being sold by a brand new user be very careful.

- if you must send money to people, use Paypal as then you have a means to report it to them and could possibly get your money back. A bank transfer isn't secure in this way.

- if you suspect a post on here is dodgy, report it right away using the "report to moderator" link that's on every thread.

haha sounds familiar

I'm 99% sure you can get money back from paypal, you open a dispute and it will take a bit of time but you will, also contact paypal to inform them that fraudulent payments have been made to the account, ask them what you need to do/supply to them in regards to stopping their account, freezing their account etc

what police details they need, who the police need to contact at paypal etc

it is shit but i have to say i am glad i spotted him the second time!

didnt anyone get pm's from him after posting in the wanted section?

he pm'd me an amazing price for a central locking pump. luckily id already got one!

damn, I wish i'd posted in the wanted section, maybe he could've given me a good price on the fabia VRS hubs i'm after.

We're looking into various ways to secure the buying and selling process on the site, but it's always going to be one bad apple that spoils it for everyone else.

I'm sure its been suggested before..

put a resriction on the for sale bit! only be allowed to post if you have say 150 posts or something. Surely this would work?

I don't think that'll work very well... There's people who genuinely use the site but don't post a lot...

I say give him a dry one and make an example of him

i dont think any measures are needed, just be aware quite simply, and dont leave yourself open for being ripped off, would you give someone knocking on your door £400 for some parts he is going to go and get from his house?

no you would laugh at it, but transfering money to someone you have said a few words to and has cheap parts you would!

well done dan.

I'm up for a trip to derbyshire with my good friends mr jerry can and mr match box!

I hate lil pricks who spoil it for the rest.

i've noticed he tries to sell everything car related for £200..

(the full GTi engine conversion, GTi wheels and now the ronal turbos).

so watch out for things around £200 with people on low post counts

Just stick to paid club members, moderators and admin, and check out a user's post/topic history aswell to see if he is actually active on here, and not just posting in for sale.

You should never trust the lone wolfs, always buy off known members. Chances are these people are the most likely to sell stuff anyway.

well done for spotting it...

i hope he gets whats coming to him

Its unfair though, genuine sellers that dont really use the site will be tarred with the same brush..

Like i advertised my wheels on here before.. obviously I'm a reputable member :unibrow: but i advertise them on, say, Club Lupo, and because its my first post people would assume somethings suspicious.

Not all 2 post members are scammers, it only takes some common sense, if you have any doubts, or dont know the member etc.. dont do bank transfers, cash on collection only, simple.

Yes, a valver box for £100!,then changed to £100 delivered next day. I've been texting him today, and he was trying to get me to do a bank transfer but i refused.Something just didn't feel right, he was being too nice by offering free delivery etc when originally i was supposed to collect it. Scamming b******s!

BTW, i've been selling on here for a few years, not all of us are out to scam buyers!
