sweet as sugar :D

mums insurance...fail

not getting no no claims bonus..thats if you aint with direct line

but even then..direct line normally charge a fair bit for that privelage

when you come off your mums insurance, your premium will be mahoosive lol

I'm with elephant, 1100 with mods at 18 with 0ncb thats the 10 month jobby tho

My policy starts on the 4th of November with Brentacre... £1057 with a 100bhp policy.

i tried getting insured on a PoloGT at 18 with modifications and 1 years no claims and it wasnt possible anywhere....prices coming ni at around 2K+

I could get insured on a GT as stadnard for just under a grand though.

wait till next year mate ;)

oh, atm i have 1.0 engine in my polo but i want to get GT, should i wait till I'm 19?? but the 1.0 engine is bit messed up, cooling system is fucked, so i dont no if its worth repairing it.

Well a conversion always costs more to insure than a standard GT form what i hear. You could get a GT now and insure it as standard, then jsut wait til lyour 19.

whilst your 18 and you have to keep it standard you could get it all sorted out bodywork wise and engine wise.

i had my GT as my first car when i was 17, with NFU mutual i paid 1270 i think fully comp...... with all mods declared.

they even insured me for the respray.

I had my GT at 17, paid about £1400. But now i'm 18 with a years no claims i'm paying about £950. Thats with Quinn with the lowering declared. :D

I tried all of these people and got ridiculous prices. i dont understand why they give quotes out to some drivers then not others.

depends on the area as well i think

lots of factors decide a quote

yeah definatly, quinn quoted me nearly £2,500 last night with all my mods, I'm going a bit standard i think..

Think its just gunna be the area and age. I'm paying 2000k on my 1.3. Apparantly some insurers wont insure me because of the age of the car.(I'm 18)

I could insure a 1.6 mk2 golf for the same price.

If you live in a place like me where the new trend is to drive past parked cars and smash the windows with a golf club then it will be high.

I would rather get a different car if it works out more to GT conversion it which i was planning to do to my car aswell.

i was thinking about getting GT engine to my polo and register it as GT, or just swap engines and dont declare engine swap.

av herd conversions are cheaper to insure than a genuine GT

your car will still look like a 1L but with a GT engine...u wuda thought the desirability factor wouldnt have changed

coolant system is a doddle to repair what is up with it i can help u with that. u just need some sort of tray to drain the coolant and that

i think the water is leaking

adrian flux quoted me the cheapest at 18 on a GT, I had just passed my test too and it was £1400tpft but after that first year I was able to go with brentacre on a 100bhp policy for £798tpft, 1 years no claims really does help, as do specialist insurance companies.

mums insurance...fail

not getting no no claims bonus..thats if you aint with direct line

but even then..direct line normally charge a fair bit for that privelage

when you come off your mums insurance, your premium will be mahoosive lol

Dont go with directline whatever you do.

I did the build your own no claims thing as a named driver with them.

Turns out, if you decide to go for a different company after that year when you have 1 years ncb, you cant use the NCB, its only usable with directline.

Pricks.

I've just been through it all, finished a year, assumed i had a years no claims, but no, only if i stay with them as a named driver again.

So i've gotta declare myself as having no NCB, and my insurance is still similar price to last year unfortunatly, so i gotta keep my Polo another year, i wanted a Bora. :(

when i was 18 with 1ncb i had my corsa sport which i insured for £950 tpft with quinn, after about 5 months i swapped it to my polo GT and i got £50 back from quinn 8-)

when i got my renewal though for my polo it was 750 tpft, so i let it lapse. decided to get a quote at 19 with 2 ncb with quinn but as a "new customer" and they wanted about £1800 fully comp! jokers

Dont go near admiral they told me i had a years ncb but when i went somewhere else they refused it because i was a named driver and they charged me for cancelling the insurence and the monthly payment shot up!
