Only downside to the Ka was the brakes and engine...so I'll second mouses opinion and say I'd love a shot of a SportKa

Consider this a third hands up for a go in a SportKa.

I reckon either a normal or SportKa would be a great entry level track car. I know the standard 1.3 is slow, but with decent suspension and brake upgrades, a roll cage and bucket seats it'd be good fun and wouldn't cost much to maintain.

I don't get why people hate the Ford KA - I think they're great little cars to drive. Not a motorway cruiser, but they're a go-kart around town/down back roads. More fun than a 1.3 Polo IMHO.

I had one for a hire car a while ago (work told to to get one, pay what needed to be paid and claim it back, I'd have gone for the C-Class, but I was skint). To be honest, it wasn't bad, yeah, it wasn't great on the motorways (normal weapon of choice for that being a 2.5 litre V6), but I did Boston to London to Derby to Skeg to Boston in it and was comfy enough, I'd rather have done the trip in the Ka than my Mk2.

Citreon C2 VTR (driving lessons): Dodgy steering, never went into gear, stupidly designed tacho.

Switched to a 56 plate Fiesta diesel which i must say was miles better, better interior, much better gearbox, smoother ride (diesel!).

Loved the fiesta, only had the VTR for 2 lessons though, stalled it hell of a lot.

my bro's had a couple of saxos and i loved driving them.

worst cars I've driven would be a mk3golf 1.4 5door just no power what so ever and I'm used to driving a 1.4 8v polo but the extra weight does effect it.

Citroen ax 1.0 had crap tyres so didnt handle well had crap interior and stunk of smoke it was horrible luckily it decided to start squirting oil out of the front of the engine and out of the grill.

and my polo is pretty horrible to drive at the min wound down coilys on my crap thin winter wheels with rubbish tyres. compared to the ats cups it feels like the steering wheel doesnt do anything any more.

was it defo a c2 vtr cos I'm sure the vtr's only came with a semi auto box.

Anything french inperticular peugots (205 being top of the list, the "legendary over steer" is a load of bollocks) with the mild exception of the renault 19 1.9tdi and 16v, although I've never owned or driven the 16v, they make fantastic thrash abouts but if you try to work on any french car they are horribly complicated, three hours for a cam belt REMOVAL not a change just a removal...!
