Hey Etches!

Wasn't it your G that got stolen from Sheffield? Sure I read on Facebook 'Lowdown G40 stolen'

Got to bring this lump back to life first, then if we have time over summer we're going to turbo my old one

Build it up over time is the plan anyway :)

When did you turbo yours? What's the torque steering like now?

I canny wait

Yeah I said the same thing, but I got a thing for power! I got 2 engines now, so I can keep one original and turbo the other. Next year we want to play with eaton too, all drift plan dependent though.

Update as promised.

Engine out, new engine cleaned, old bits off the old engine being put on the new.

Pretty pictures, we all like pictures haha.

Mike doesn't no  Need it on the road ASAP so his drift build can go back in the unit and get that done.

Thanks Karlos, I shall pass it on!

More updates to follow...

Nice to have you back D to the rizzle, G's looking sexual

Yo dirt I was wondering where you were!!

Not in the vern anymore? I'm still making the G40 badge known Around here so it's all still owned by G-Lada territory!

You got a G40 Jack? Good lad!

Nah, I'm living in Castle Donington now so that's why you haven't seen me  Haha good good, I'll be back every now and again to terrorise it!

Well more progress pictures from Mike's last couple of sessions on the G...

Broken manifold studs drilled out and helicoiled

Nasty... Turns out the plugs were WR7DC+, which after Mike researched were NOT right for the G. As stated by a few earlier in this thread WR5's are what was needed, possibly WR4's since the G had the R1 charger and other mods. But the ones fitted just before the engine died were WR7 fails.

Now have some NGK BP7EVX on order which are equivalent to Bosch WR5/4. These particular NGK's were recommended over on a thread on Club G40 between Yoof and Saf, so hopefully no issues there now!

More updates to come... Getting close now :smirk:

NEVER!

Don't now if you can view that?

But after my awesome one bending the valves (ouch) the first time round from not enough knowledge about the after market cam, he then changed the head and put the old BVH on bless him. Needs some exhaust manifold studs hence the noise but she runs sweet! Ignition timing was tweaked after this... Not long now  He did this whilst i was out picking a wedding dress back in Worcester  good times!

Donington is taking a lot of my time and Rolls Royce have got his for the next few weekends as well as squeezing in Drift One at Oulton Park and Buxton once a month, busy busy busy but loving it!

But I bought a 2 door E30 (cheap cheap)

So going to put my 6 pot in this new shell from my old one

Bye bye sexy E-Dirrty

After my 2bd drift day at Oulton Park with Drift One

I'm going to try drifting the new one 1.8is at Oulton next month. Should be a treat compared to my old bitch, wasn't the best to learn in but I wanted to learn the hard way. Plan to MOT and tax he G at end of June if all goes to plan

Keep you posted with le G progress :smirk:

I am currently torn on what to do with this atm, sell or put in storage as we really haven't got any time for it as we're constantly working for Donington or Drift One

If anyone is genuinely interested, drop me a pm.

Its a sad day :(

I'l be tempted in the new year when iv saved some dollar up

I know  If someone made me the right offer now, I'd let it go but I'm not putting up a for sale thread which tells me I still want it anyway. I love the fucking thing

I've insured it all year ffs haha I would also be £600 better off this year if it wasn't for that to, but I've kept in going now to get another years NCB.

I just don't have time for it and nor does Mike atm, maybe over winter when things clam down again shit might change but as it stands its not looking good again for next year as I have a drift car to overhaul and I want to keep on that dream to. It hasn't helped this year getting married as we've drilled all our pounds into that and then some.

It'll still probably be there in the New Year, so hit me up dude as I'd like to see it to a good home if I do let it go :smirk:

Don't need to tell me :(

I've followed this car since I've been on the forum. Such a shame, if i had the cash I'd keep it under lock and key. Always loved the decals and the fact the cars been used as it should lol!
