1.2 Polo won't start (2002) Where is the crankshaft sensor?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone.. Someone on another forum suggested I tried on here for help, so hello first of all.

Where abouts is the crankshaft sensor located? It's an 02 1.2 Polo. It wouldn't start this morning.. then started, made a bit of noise (I thought it needed oil) and then died.. Won't go again now. It turns over fine, but won't fire.. Sounds a little bit dodgy on turnover, but that might just be as it's only got 3 cylinders? I thought it could be the cambelt snapping, but it's got a chain and it looks fine.

It's my sisters car and she needs it pretty urgently.

Anyone know where the crankshaft sensor is or have any other suggestions?

Many thanks.

sorted.. you can remove if you wish.

The timing chain isn't prone to problems, its the timing chain tensioner that causes the chain to slip a notch or two...enough to disable your engine but not enough to cause any damage.
